Addressing Paulinist Defenses
In this section, some of the common defenses of Paul employed by Paulinists will be examined from a critical perspective.
The Holy Spirit Defense
One of the most obvious defenses of Paul used by Paulinists is to claim his infallibility as a consequence of the widely held belief that Paul the pharisee had the Holy Spirit.

Acts 13:2
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.

Acts 13:2 indicates that the Holy Spirit required that Barnabas & Paul work together. Barnabas was a Levite who was known to Messiah YAHUSHA’s Apostles, as Acts 4:36 indicates. Acts 9 indicates that after Paul’s conversion on the road to Damascus, Paul went to Jerusalem & tried to meet YAHUSHA’s Apostles. They were initially wary of Paul, & didn’t believe that he was a follower of YAHUSHA. Barnabas then took Paul, introduced him to YAHUSHA’s Apostles, & told them about Paul’s “road to Damascus” experience. This is documented in Acts 9:26-27. Not surprisingly, Paul himself contradicts this account of Acts 9:26-27 with his false account from Galatians 1:15-20!

Acts 4:36-37
And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Acts 9:26-27
And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

Galatians 1:15-20
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were Apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

Another interesting account in the book of Acts is found in Acts 14:8-12. Specifically, the people of Lystra perceived the nature of the relationship between Barnabas & Paul, as Acts 14:12 indicates. The people of Lystra referred to Barnabas as jupiter, & referred to Paul as mercury. Here Luke’s bias is somewhat evident since he gives the explanation that Paul was the “chief speaker”. However according to roman mythology, jupiter was the chief & most powerful god while mercury was simply his messenger.

Acts 14:8-12
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men. And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercurius, because he was the chief speaker.

Acts 4:36, Acts 9:26-27, & Acts 14:12 all indicate that Barnabas was the elder/mentor. Paul was just the new kid in town, so to speak. As mentioned previously, Acts 13:2 indicates that the Holy Spirit required that they were supposed to work together.
However, Acts 15:36-40 indicates that Barnabas & Paul had a major disagreement. Following their disagreement, they never worked together again. According to this account in Acts 15, Paul suggested that they go through all the cities they had preached to previously. Barnabas agreed, & wanted to bring Mark on the trip also. Unfortunately, Paul felt strongly that Mark should not go with them. This resulted in such a major disagreement that Barnabas & Paul went their separate ways, & never worked together again. This major argument & parting of the ways between Barnabas & Paul only occurred once.

Of course, Paul gives a completely different account of his disagreement & parting of ways with Barnabas in Galatians 2:13. This is only to be expected, given Paul’s remarks in Romans 3:7 & 2 Corinthians 12:16.

Acts 15:36-40
And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus; And Paul chose Silas, and departed, being recommended by the brethren unto the grace of God. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, confirming the churches.

Galatians 2:11-13
But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

Romans 3:7
For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my LIE unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

2 Corinthians 12:16
But be it so, I did not burden you: nevertheless, being crafty, I caught you with guile.

Acts 13:2 clearly documents that the Holy Spirit had indicated Paul was to work with Barnabas. Unfortunately Paul disagreed with, & separated himself from working with Barnabas as Acts 15:36-40 indicates. By doing this, Paul was effectively disobeying the Holy Spirit.

Similarly, Acts 21 indicates that through other people, the Holy Spirit was repeatedly warning Paul against going to Jerusalem. Acts 21:3-4 & Acts 21:10-13 both document this. This caused Paul to issue his public boast of Acts 21:13, that he was ready not only to be bound in Jerusalem, but also to die for the name of Lord Jesus in Jerusalem. Paul very quickly forgot all about this boast when he was actually given that very opportunity in Acts 25:9-12.

{Instead of agreeing to be judged & most likely martyred in Jerusalem for the sake of Lord Jesus as he had previously proclaimed & publicly boasted, Paul instead appealed to Caesar! Incidentally, Paul’s appeal to Caesar of Acts 25:9-12 was in violation of Paul’s own decree to the Corinthians of 1 Corinthians 6:1-7, that they should not seek justice in civic or secular courts, but rather they should simply allow themselves to be wronged & defrauded!}

Acts 21:3-4
Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden. And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

Acts 21:10-13
And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

Acts 21:13
Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

{Acts 25: 9-11
But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me? Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar's judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest. For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.

1 Corinthians 6:1-7
Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?}

In regards to the above passages, jesuswordsonly.com insightfully points out that if Paul were so full of the Holy Spirit, why would it be necessary for the Holy Spirit to repeatedly warn Paul not to go to Jerusalem through other people?(1)

Paulinists who seek to defend Paul with the Holy Spirit don’t really have a leg to stand on as Acts 13:2/Acts 15:36-40 , Acts 21:3-4, & Acts 21:10-12 all show Paul repeatedly disobeying the Holy Spirit. 1 Kings 13(see below) relates the story of a prophet who was tricked into disobeying YHWH by another prophet who lied to him. The prophet who was deceived into disobeying YHWH died shortly thereafter as a result. Similarly, Adam & Eve, Balaam, Moses, Nadab & Abihu, Saul (the first king of Israel), & Jonah also suffered significant consequences for disobeying YHWH even once. Apparently Paulinists like to believe that their beloved Paul the pharisee was so incredibly exceptional that he could freely & repeatedly disobey the Holy Spirit at will, & still remain greatly favored & highly blessed!

In regards to Paul’s teachings on the Holy Spirit, in 1 Corinthians 12:3 Paul states that “...no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.” In other words, Paul was claiming that no one can say that Jesus is Lord unless they have the Holy Spirit. However, that claim is clearly disproved by the events of Acts 8:5-17. In the passage of Acts 8:5-17, the Samaritans were evangelized by Philip, they believed in the name of YAHUSHA HaMaschiach, & they were baptized. So they acknowledged YAHUSHA as being their Lord & Savior, & were baptized in His Name. Yet, they did not receive the Holy Spirit until Peter & John came & laid hands on them, & prayed for them according to Acts 8:5-17. This clearly disproves Paul's claim about the "Holy Spirit" of 1 Corinthians 12:3.

Furthermore, Adonai YAHUSHA warns us in Matthew 7:21-23 that many would call Him “Lord” whom He will reject as workers of lawlessness. These verses clearly prove Paul’s teaching about the Holy Spirit of 1 Corinthians 12:3 to be false. Since Paul was making false claims & false teachings about the Holy Spirit, he automatically loses all credibility & authority as a supposed author of infallible Scripture.

1 Corinthians 12:3
Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 8:5-17
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city...But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.... Now when the Apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of Elohim, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

In regards to the Holy Spirit, our Saviour YAHUSHA indicates that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth which would bring His true Apostles into perfect recollection of everything YAHUSHA said & taught.

John14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

As mentioned previously, Paul claims that “Jesus” spoke to him on the road to Damascus. Luke records Paul giving his first person account of this encounter on two occasions: in his defense before the men of Israel in Acts 22:5-11, as well as in his defense before Agrippa in Acts 26:13-19. Luke records that Paul changed his account of what the voice from Heaven told him, depending on whom Paul was speaking to…

According to Acts 9:1-9 & 22:5-11, in his defense before the men of Israel, Paul claims that the voice from heaven told him the following...

Acts 9:1-9
...Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? ... I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks... Arise, & go into the city, & it shall be told thee what thou must do...

Acts 22:5-11
...Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?… I am Jesus of Nazareth whom thou persecutest….Arise & go into Damascus; & there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do…

However, in his defense before Agrippa found in Acts 26:12-20, Paul claims to Agrippa that the voice from heaven told him something very different…

Acts 26:12-20
...Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks…. I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise & stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister & a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, & of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; delivering thee from the people & from the gentiles unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes & to turn them from darkness to light, & from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins & inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me...

According to Acts 9:1-9 & Acts 22:5-11, the voice from Heaven didn’t really say anything very positive at all to Paul. As you may probably recall, he was in fact struck blind according to those initial accounts. Yet before Agrippa, Paul fails to make any mention of having been struck blind, fasting for 3 days & nights, or having been healed by Ananias; leading reasonable people to question whether any of those events actually took place or not. He also leads Agrippa to believe that the voice from Heaven was almost flattering Paul. This is of course very different from the first two accounts of Acts 9:1-20 & Acts 22:5-11. Paul clearly had difficulty accurately & consistently restating what the voice from Heaven told him. Either that or Paul simply chose to convey a different version of what the voice from Heaven told him, depending on whom he was speaking to.

In John 14:26, YAHUSHA tells His actual disciples that the Holy Spirit will bring into remembrance everything YAHUSHA told them. If we assume that Paul's first account before the men of Israel (Acts 22:5-11) was correct since it is largely corroborated by Acts 9:1-9; then Paul's second account (Acts 26:13-19) before Agrippa must definitely be incorrect or false! Since the voice from Heaven only said those few words to Paul on the road to Damascus, how could Paul possibly even have the “Holy Spirit” since Paul was unable to consistently recall or relate what “Jesus” told him??

Who is the "Holy Spirit"? The following verses will reveal exactly who the "Holy Spirit" is...

Judges 6:34
But the Spirit of YHWH came upon Gideon, & he blew a trumpet....

Judges 11:29
Then the Spirit of YHWH came upon Jephthah, & he passed over Gilead...

Judges 14:6
And the Spirit of YHWH came mightily upon Samson, & he rent the lion as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.

2 Samuel 23:1-2
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said,
and the man who was raised up on high,
the anointed of the Elohim of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
The Spirit of YHWH spake by me,
and His Word was in my tongue.

The "Holy Spirit" is the Spirit of YHWH. The Holy Spirit is not some autonomous entity independent of YHWH our Creator. The "Holy Spirit" is the Spirit of YHWH! Is the Spirit of YHWH going to suddenly & arbitrarily inspire someone like Paul the pharisee to write against, disparage, or otherwise cause people to disobey YHWH's own Torah at the end of YHWH's Scriptures? Absolutely not...

Ezekiel 36:27
And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

So in regards to Paul & the "Holy Spirit", it has been shown that Paul repeatedly disobeyed the "Holy Spirit"(13:2/Acts 15:36-40 , Acts 21:3-4, & Acts 21:10-12). The prophet from 1 Kings 13 died for disobeying YHWH even once! Nadab & Abihu, Priests of YHWH & sons of Aaron, also died for disobeying YHWH even once! Similarly, Adam & Eve, Balaam, Moses, Nadab & Abihu, Saul (the first king of Israel), & Jonah also suffered significant consequences for disobeying YHWH even once. Paul wrote at least one false teaching about the "Holy Spirit"(1 Corinthians 12:3), & Paul was unable or unwilling to consistently recall the few statements the voice from Heaven told him on the road to Damascus(Acts 22:5-11 vs. Acts 26:12-20). In contrast, John 14:26 reveals that the Messiah had told His real Apostles that the "Holy Spirit" would bring in to remembrance everything that He had told them!

Paul also repeatedly taught that believers in the Messiah were not supposed to keep YHWH's Torah or Law(Romans 6:14-15, Galatians 5:18, etc.), thus meeting the Deuteronomy 13:5 definition of a false prophet. The Spirit of YHWH never inspired any of YHWH's true prophets to speak or write against YHWH's Torah or Law. On the contrary, YHWH told us in Ezekiel 36:27 that His Spirit would cause people to be obedient to Him! Paul's writings, which are undeniably against YHWH's Torah, were therefore clearly not inspired by the Spirit of YHWH!

The "Paul's Acts 26 Account Was Just a "Summary"" Defense

Various Paulinists have attempted to claim that Paul’s account of Acts 26:12-20 is simply a summary of Acts 9:1-20, with Paul summarizing what the voice from Heaven told Ananias & Paul. However, when examined as a summary of Acts 9:1-20, Paul’s Acts 26:12-20 account still fails miserably. As mentioned previously, in Acts 26:12-20, Paul fails to mention several important aspects of the Acts 9 account. Paul fails to mention having been struck blind, fasting for 3 days & nights, or having been healed by Ananias. In his account of Acts 26:12-20, Paul fails to make any mention of devout Ananias at all. Paul similarly forgets about poor, devout Ananias in all of his letters that have been included in the New Testament! Paul’s account of Acts 26:12-20 is clearly not a reliable summary by any stretch of the imagination!

Furthermore, Paul’s first person account of Acts 26:13-19 has the voice from Heaven saying things to Paul on the road to Damascus that the voice from Heaven never said to Paul or Ananias according to the Acts 9:1-20 account. According to the Acts 9 account, Paul was initially questioned why Paul was persecuting the voice from Heaven, who subsequently identified Himself as “Jesus”. The voice from Heaven then told Paul to get up & go into Damascus where he would be given further instructions.
The voice from Heaven told Ananias to go & put his hand on Paul that he may receive his sight. Ananias reasonably questioned the need for such an intervention, given Paul’s history of persecuting YAHUSHA’s followers & disciples. The voice from Heaven states that Paul was chosen to bear his Name before gentiles, kings, & the children of Israel. The voice from Heaven also indicated that Paul was to suffer greatly for the sake of the voice from Heaven.

In contrast, according to Paul’s account before Agrippa of Acts 26:13-19, the voice tells Paul to get up, that the voice is speaking to Paul to make him a witness, & a “minister”. The actual word used here is Strong’s G5257; hyperetes: an underoarsman, subordinate assistant, or servant. The Acts 26 voice also states that the voice was sending him to the Gentiles to open their eyes, & to turn them from darkness to light, & from the power of Satan to Elohim, that they may receive forgiveness of sins. These statements all exclusively belong to the account of Acts 26, & were never mentioned previously to either Paul or Ananias according to the accounts of Acts 9:1-20 or of Acts 22:5-11.
This clearly illustrates that the contradictions & discrepancies present in Paul’s account of Acts 26:13-19 are present because Paul’s account before Agrippa is new & different from the two previous accounts of the road to Damascus incident found in Acts 9:1-20 & Acts: 22:5-11. Acts 26:13-19 contains new claims, or “information”, not found in the previous accounts, & omits important information that was present in the previous accounts. Therefore it could not possibly be considered a summary of the two initial accounts of Paul’s road to Damascus event.
Rather, Acts 26:13-19 is Paul’s own embellished & creative version of his experience on the road to Damascus; omitting any mention of being struck blind, or being healed by Ananias. In this new version, the voice from heaven is much more talkative & approving than previously described in Acts 9:1-20 & Acts 22:5-11! The following table is an attempt to summarize this information.

Table 2. Indicating the "creative uniqueness" of Paul's Acts 26 account of his experience on the road to Damascus
In addition the voice from Heaven spoke to Ananias in his home, & conveyed a favorable or positive statement about Paul. For Paul to later claim before Agrippa that the voice from Heaven told Paul the same favorable or positive statement on the road to Damascus would still be untrue, incorrect, & false.

As can be seen in the table above, the road to Damascus accounts of Acts 9:1-20 & Acts 22:5-11 are fairly consistent for the most part. The most significant difference being that in the Acts 22 account, in Paul’s defense before the men of Israel, Paul makes no mention of the “it is hard for you to kick against the pricks” quote. However, Paul does mention that phrase in his defense before Agrippa.
As mentioned previously in Chapter 3, this phrase is from the play, Bacchae, written approximately 400yrs prior to Paul’s use of it in his accounts.(2) The phrase is a quote from the greek god dionysus who tells the king that refuses to worship him that “it is hard for him to kick against the goads.” Again, that “quote” is problematic because it is extremely difficult to believe that our Almighty Risen Savior would find it necessary to paraphrase or quote dionysus from pagan/idolatrous literature!
Overlooking minor differences, the accounts of Acts 9:1-20 & Acts 22:5-11 are somewhat similar for the most part. Acts 26:12-20 is clearly significantly different from the two previous accounts, as it fails to mention Paul being struck blind, Paul fasting for 3 days & nights, & even fails to make any mention whatsoever of Ananias. Also, the Acts 26:13-19 account has the voice from Heaven saying things to Paul that were never previously said to Paul or Ananias in the previous accounts of Acts 9:1-20, & Acts 22:5-11. Paulinists who try to explain Paul’s false account of Acts 26:13-19 as a summary are clearly indulging in wishful thinking.

The "Barnabas exonerated Paul" Defense

While Paul was still wickedly persecuting our Saviour’s believer’s & forcing them to blaspheme, Barnabas was in fellowship with the True Apostles.

Acts 4:36
And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being
interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Following his experience on the road to Damascus(RTD/RTDE), Paul went to Damascus, then Jerusalem, where he tried to “to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.” This is probably because they remembered what our Saviour warned them ....

Matthew 24:27
24For there shall arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25Behold, I have told you before. 26Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. 27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Nevertheless, Barnabas took Paul & introduced him to the Apostles in Acts 9:27...

{As an interesting aside, in his letter to the Galatians, Paul naturally denies that he had tried to meet the Apostles following his RTDE ...

Galatians 1:16-18
… immediately I conferred not with flesh & blood: neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were Apostles before me: but I went into Arabia & returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem…

Of course, this is to be expected given Paul the pharisee's self-admitted penchant for dishonesty as mentioned in Romans 3:7 & 2 Corinthians 12:16.}

Barnabas also subsequently took Saul to Antioch... In other words, Barnabas was Paul’s mentor & elder in the faith.
Acts 11:25-26
Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

As mentioned previously, the Holy Spirit required that Barnabas & Paul to work together.

Acts 13:2
As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.

Acts 15:36-40 documents that following the Jerusalem Council, Barnabas & Paul had a major disagreement & never worked together again...

Acts 15:36-40
And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do. And Barnabas determined to take with them John, whose surname was Mark. But Paul thought not good to take him with them, who departed from them from Pamphylia, and went not with them to the work. And the contention was so sharp between them, that they departed asunder one from the other: and so Barnabas took Mark, and sailed unto Cyprus;

Barnabas & Paul were going to visit all the cities they’d preached at previously. Barnabas & John/Mark were relatives, so naturally Barnabas wanted to take his family member along, as he was also an evangelist.
However, Paul disagreed with Barnabas, & refused to allow John/Mark to accompany them on the journey, so they broke up & never worked together again! This major disagreement following the Acts 15 Jerusalem Council only happened once, & they never worked together again. Of course, Paul gives a false account of this break up in Galatians chapter 2...
Gal 2:11-13
But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face because he was to be blamed… & the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

{Again, Paul's false narrative is unsurprising given his self-admitted penchant for dishonesty as mentioned in Romans 3:7 & 2 Corinthians 12:16.}

Despite all that Barnabas had done for Paul in introducing Paul to the Apostles in Acts 9, taking Paul to the congregation in Antioch, & attempting to mentor Paul in general; Paul returned the favors by turning against him & refusing to allow Barnabas’ relative Mark to accompany them on their planned journey mentioned in Acts 15:36-40. Consequently, Barnabas never worked with Paul again. For Paulinists to imagine that Barnabas somehow exonerated Paul, or would have anything positive to say about Paul the pharisee is really just desperate grasping for straws on their part.
The "Ananias was a Witness" Defense

This leads to another defense that Paulinists frequently attempt. Paulinists will attempt to show the reliability of Paul’s road to Damascus account by bringing up the testimony of devout Ananias as a witness of Paul’s account. As discussed above, according to the account of Acts 9:1-20, the voice from Heaven basically sent Ananias to go & heal Paul’s blindness after he had fasted for three days & nights. Ananias does so in this account & also encourages Paul to be baptized & wash away his sins in YAHUSHA’s Name. Although Paul fails to make any mention of fasting for 3 days & nights, he does acknowledge Ananias as having been instrumental in his healing according to his defense before the men of Israel in Acts 22:12-17. However, in Paul’s defense before Agrippa in Acts 26:12-20, Paul fails to make any mention whatsoever of devout Ananias at all.

As we all know, blindness is a terrible condition from which the overwhelming majority of people in history never recovered. It is safe to say that from Paul’s time even to this very day; being healed of a suddenly acquired, total blindness would be considered a fairly miraculous or significant event.
Intuitively, it seems that the overwhelming majority of people who suffered blindness & were healed of this condition by someone else would at the very least be somewhat grateful to the person involved in healing them. The person healed would naturally tend to make mention of their condition & "healer" whenever the subject arose.

In his defense before Agrippa, Paul fails to mention his blindness, fasting for 3 days & nights, & also Ananias’ healing of him. Similarly, Paul fails to mention devout Ananias even once in any of his New Testament letters. Paul’s failure to mention Ananias even once in any of his letters or in his defense before Agrippa, causes Ananias’ testimony to lose whatever credibility it may have otherwise had. Paul also fails to mention having been blinded or having been healed of his blindness in any of his New Testament letters.

Similarly, Paul’s varying accounts of his road to Damascus experience, & what the voice from Heaven told him also causes Paul’s entire road to Damascus story to lose credence, especially when taken into context of verses like Romans 3:7 & 2 Cor 12:16. In other words, the reliability & believability of Ananias’ testimony in support of Paul’s road to Damascus account is destroyed by Paul himself in his inability to even recall or mention Ananias’ involvement in any of Paul’s letters or in his account of Acts 26:12-20!

Paul’s devotees will attempt to exonerate Paul from being responsible for all the contradictions regarding the road to Damascus passages of Acts 9, 22, & 26 by putting all the blame squarely on Luke’s shoulders. “Luke wrote the book of Acts, not Paul. The contradictions are all the fault of Luke’s writings”, Pharisee Paul’s defenders indignantly proclaim. Fine.
The three descriptions of the road to Damascus event from the book of Acts are contradictory in multiple ways so they must be thrown out. Paul’s letters also contain no real mention of his experience on the road to Damascus. The credibility of Paul’s biggest claim to fame, his experience on the road to Damascus is thereby reduced to absolute zero! Paul’s repeated claims of “Apostleship” are consequently seen as groundless, & merely self-proclaimed. Even if all the church fathers in history swore that Paul was a true Apostle, the important reality is that there is not a single verse in the entire New Testament in which Adonai YAHUSHA plainly identifies Saul of Tarsus or Paul the Pharisee as being His disciple or Apostle! Neither is there a single verse in the New Testament in which YAHUSHA’s actual 12 Apostles acknowledge Paul the Pharisee or Saul of Tarsus as being one of YAHUSHA’s Apostles!

The "Acts 15 & Galatians 2 Are Not Talking About The Same Sequence of Events" Defense

Another defense employed by Paulinists is that of misrepresenting or misconstruing the events of Acts 15 & 21. Paulinists claim that chapters 15 & 21 in the book of Acts both verify Paul’s standing as an Apostle. According to Paulinists, these two chapters document his approval & acceptance by James, the elders, & Apostles in Jerusalem.

However, even a cursory reading of Acts 15 will reveal that Paul makes an impressive series of false claims in the second chapter of Galatians regarding the events of Acts 15. Acts 15 & Galatians Chapter 2 are both describing the same sequence of events... the Acts15Galatians2 Sequence. The review of Paul’s false claims made in Galatians Chapter two is made in previous chapters. To review, here is a summary of some of the false claims Paul makes regarding these events in Galatians 2.

Some of Paul’s False claims from Galatians 2

-
Galatians 2:6-9: James & the Apostles saw that the “Gospel of the Uncircumcision” was committed to Paul. Acts 15 documents nothing of the sort. Peter is essentially credited as the first Apostle to the Gentiles or uncircumcised, since Cornelius & his family all received the Ruach Elohim or Holy Spirit after hearing Peter in Acts10. Also the Samaritans received the Holy Spirit after Peter & John prayed for them & laid hands on them in Acts chapter 8(when Paul was still actively persecuting YAHUSHA’s followers).
-
Galatians 2:6-9: James & the Apostles decided that Paul & Barnabas should go into all the world to preach to the gentiles, while James & the Apostles should focus on circumcised Jews!! (Paul’s impossible claims here contradict YAHUSHA’s “Great Commission to His 12 Apostles that they should all go into the whole world & make disciples of all people as found in Matthew 28:16-20 & Mark 16:14-16.) The truth is that while a few were martyred in Jerusalem & Judea, most of Adonai YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles did go all over the world preaching & baptizing the Good News as they were instructed by Adonai YAHUSHA. (See Apostolic Travels below)
-
On the question of whether gentiles should be circumcised to receive salvation, in Gal 2:9-10 Paul claims that James & the elders advised that they simply “remember the poor.” In reality, James, the Apostles, & elders decided that the new gentile believers should avoid idolatry, sexual immorality, things strangled, & blood! Paul saw fit to omit the four items for gentiles to avoid in all of his New Testament letters to gentile congregations, in blatant violation of Deuteronomy 17:8-13!
-
Galatians 2:11-14: Paul claims that Peter got to Antioch before Judas & Silas.
-
Galatians 2:11-14: Paul claims that Peter ate with gentiles before Judas & Silas Barnabas got to Antioch but withdrew from the Gentiles , “fearing them of the circumcision”, once Judas & Silas got to Antioch.
-
Galatians 2:11-14: Paul claims he publicly scolded Peter to his face, implying that Peter was a Jew who was living like a Gentile…
-
Galatians 2:11-14: Paul claims Barnabas was “carried away” with Peter’s hypocritical behaviour, hence the split up of Barnabas & Paul.

Galatians 2:6-14
But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person:) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me: But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?

One defense that Paulinists make to attempt to excuse all of these false claims is that Galatians chapter two & Acts 15 are speaking about different occasions. However, both chapters start with the same initial conflict of men from Judea coming to Antioch, & teaching that the gentiles must be circumcised to be saved, creating confusion.

Acts 15 & Galatians most definitely can not be referring to different occasions since there would be no need to send Barnabas & Paul to Jerusalem to question James & the Apostles about the same issue(the question of whether gentiles have to be circumcised to be saved) twice!

Both chapters mention Paul & Barnabas being sent to Jerusalem to question James, the elders, Apostles about this issue. Both chapters mention Paul being heard before James, the elders, & Apostles in Jerusalem. Both chapters also mention James & Peter discussing the issue, as well as a decision being issued by James, the elders, & Apostles. However, this is where Paul’s false narrative of Galatians chapter 2 begins to deviate significantly from the Acts 15 account. Finally, both Acts 15 & Galatians 2 also mention the disagreement between Paul & Barnabas, which was so severe that they never worked together again. This disagreement occurred only once, indicating that both chapters are discussing the same sequence of events.

The odds that this same sequence of events could be referring to different occasions, as Paulinists will invariably claim, is about one in 10 factorial or 1/3,628,800 or less. In other words, it is mathematically impossible! So Paul’s narrative of Galatians chapter two is obviously false & self aggrandizing in comparison to the clearly more objective account of Acts 15.

Peter was one of the Apostles in the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15 who agreed that Judas & Silas should be sent with a written letter back to Antioch, along with Barnabas & Paul. If Peter had gone to Antioch at that time, Acts 15 would definitely have recorded it. However, the book of Acts makes no mention of Peter going to Antioch following the Jerusalem Council, or at any other time. Acts 15 records that Judas & Silas did arrive in Antioch with Barnabas & Paul. There is simply no way that Peter could have arrived in Antioch before Judas & Silas.

Furthermore, Peter had already been accused of eating with gentiles in Acts 11. Peter openly discussed his Acts 10 vision & his interpretation along with his account of how Cornelius & his family received the Holy Spirit or Ruach Elohim after hearing Peter speak. Peter showed those of the circumcision in the Jerusalem assembly that gentiles had received the Ruach Elohim. As a result, gentiles were no longer to be considered unclean, & there is nothing wrong in eating with them. This is all documented all the way back in Acts 11:1-18. Peter had already openly settled this matter with “those of the circumcision” in Jerusalem in Acts 11:1-18, so Paul’s claims about Peter in Galatians 2 regarding the events of Acts 15 are clearly false. Paul’s false claims in Galatians 2 about Peter are fine examples of the dishonesty that Paul admitted to in Romans 3:7 & 2 Corinthians 12:16.

In Acts 15, Paul was simply functioning as a messenger from the Antioch congregation to obtain clarification from the Apostles & Elders in Jerusalem regarding whether gentiles must be circumcised in order to be saved. Paul was sent to Jerusalem to question those with the true Apostolic authority about the matter of whether gentiles must be circumcised. In contrast to Paul’s claims of Galatians 2, there is nothing in Acts 15 to indicate that the Twelve Apostles acknowledged or recognized Paul as being one of YAHUSHA’s Apostles. Paul was simply functioning as a messenger from Antioch in Acts 15.
The "James Exhonerated Paul" Defense

Paulinists have also claimed that in Acts 21:20-24, James exonerates Paul of the charge of “teaching against the law”, which was levied against Paul by the men of Israel who recognized & seized him in Acts 21:28. However, such a characterization of what James said is at best just another fine example of Paulinist wishful thinking.

Paul presented himself to James & the elders, telling them about what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry, according to Acts 21:18-19. James then made a series of statements to Paul, explaining the problem regarding what people had been hearing regarding Paul’s false teachings. James advised Paul to take part in a purification ritual with four other men who had taken a vow. The purpose of Paul’s participation in the purification ritual was to show to everyone that what they had heard regarding Paul’s false teachings were nothing, but that Paul himself kept the Torah. This is all clear from Acts 21:20-24.

To clarify Acts 21:20-24, the following statements are numbered...
-
James & the elders praised the Lord when they heard of Paul’s ministry to the Gentiles.
-
James advised Paul to observe how many thousands of Yahudim that were present who believed in YAHUSHA & were also zealous for the Torah.
-
James tells Paul that these Torah zealous Jewish believers in YAHUSHA had been hearing that Paul was: teaching to forsake Moses, & not circumcise their children.
-
James questions Paul, “What is it therefore?”
-
James warns Paul that the multitude previously mentioned would hear that Paul had come.
-
He then advises Paul to purify himself with four men who had taken a vow & “to be at charges with them”; in order that all the multitude of Torah zealous believers in YAHUSHA may know that what they had heard about Paul was not true.
It appears that James simply gave Paul the benefit of the doubt, unaware of what Paul was actually teaching among the gentiles. From this passage, it is clear that the multitude James referred to had only been informed of Paul’s teachings among the Gentiles, but apparently had never read any of Paul’s letters to various gentile congregations. Similarly from Acts 21:20-24, there is simply no evidence that James had ever read any of Paul’s letters to various gentile congregations either.

Although James questioned Paul with “What is it therefore?”; he appeared to basically give Paul the benefit of the doubt, & simply suggested a way to avoid the conflict with the multitude. However, it is clear that James was completely unfamiliar with Paul’s false teachings, otherwise James would have been obligated to question Paul more critically. Similarly, it is very likely that James was never aware of Paul’s admission of 1 Co 9:20-21, where Paul basically admits that he behaved as a Jew with Jewish people, & as a gentile when he was with the gentiles.

1 Corinthians 9:20-21
And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the Law, as under the Law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

James never made a single comment to the effect that he had read even one or any part of Paul’s letters, nor did he make any comments as to the contents of Paul’s letters that were subsequently included in New Testament Scriptures. There is simply no record in Acts or the rest of the New Testament Scriptures that clearly indicate that James had any idea about the contents of Paul’s letters to various gentile congregations.

Paulinists will invariably attempt to take what James said in Acts 21:20-24 out of context, to fashion it into a blanket approval of Paul & all his false teachings. However in Acts 21:20-24, James simply suggests a course of action for Paul to take in order that the multitude of Torah zealous believers in YAHUSHA would understand that: those things they had heard about Paul teaching against the Law of Moses (Torah) & against circumcision were not true; and that Paul himself walked orderly & kept the Law of Moses (or Torah). James clearly assumed that was the case. James was not at all issuing a perpetual endorsement of Paul’s Torah observance & teachings, although that is certainly how various Paulinists have tried to encourage the interpretation of Acts 21:20-24.

The simple fact of the matter is that in his letters, Paul had been teaching against circumcision, & effectively encouraging gentiles against any attempt at keeping the Torah. This is without doubt. To this very day, the overwhelming majority of Christianity view Paul’s letters as the primary Scriptural authority against keeping our Heavenly Father’s Torah.
As mentioned in previous chapters, in all of his letters to gentile congregations included with the New Testament Scriptures, Paul fails to even once mention the four items that gentiles are to avoid while they learn more of Moses every Sabbath. This automatically puts Paul in violation of Deuteronomy 17:8-13. Paul also effectively teaches against circumcision in Galatians 5:1-3, 1 Corinthians 7:17-19, & Romans 2:25-29 among other verses. Similarly in his New Testament letters, Paul also completely fails to even once encourage gentiles to keep our Heavenly Father’s Sabbaths. In fact, modern day Christianity views Romans 14:5-6 & other similar verses as “Apostle Paul’s” authoritative New Testament refutation of our Heavenly Father’s Sabbath. In addition, Paul absolutely failed to encourage gentile congregations to keep the dietary guidelines & restrictions of Leviticus 11. Instead, gentile congregations to this day have Romans 14:14 & other similar verses as the “Apostle Paul’s” authoritative New Testament refutation of the dietary restrictions & guidelines of Leviticus 11.
Other than YAHUSHA, no one can exonerate Paul from Paul's own writings against YHWH's Torah!

The "Paul was just referring to the Oral Law" Defense

Paulinists in the Messianic Community will also try to save Paul by claiming that whenever Paul refers to “the law”, he was referring to the “oral law”, or rabbinical traditions of the Talmud. On the one hand, they claim that Paul was such a brilliant rabbinical Torah scholar that most folks in Christianity just simply can’t even begin to understand his letters to this day! At the same time they will claim that Paul was so pathetically imprecise in his language that when he appears to be clearly referring to our Heavenly Father’s Torah, he is actually only referring to the rabbinical traditions of the Talmud. This argument in itself is almost an admission that there is something intrinsically & horribly wrong with Paul’s letters.

The Gospels effortlessly make this distinction, as the rabbinical talmudic traditions are referred to as the “tradition of the elders.” {Matthew 15:2, Mark 7:3, Mark 7:5} If Paul was unable to clearly make this simple distinction between our Heavenly Father’s Torah & the rabbinical talmudic traditions, this inability in itself should be more than enough to disqualify his letters from any consideration of being Inspired Scripture.
However, this is clearly another false defense because Paul was in fact referring to our Heavenly Father’s Torah. In 2 Co 3:7-11 Paul refers to YHWH’s Torah as a “ministration of death written & engraven on stone”. This is a clearly blasphemous reference to the 10 Commandments, written by our Heavenly Father on stone tablets. Furthermore, we don’t see any examples of Paul teaching against rabbinical traditions, only against practices outlined in YHWH’s Torah.
In Romans 14:5-6, Paul fails to acknowledge the importance of keeping YHWH’s Sabbath, & argues that whether one keeps this day or that day it doesn’t really matter. In Galatians 4:10-11, & Col 2:14-17, Paul similarly fails to stress the importance of keeping YHWH’s Sabbaths, & appears to be arguing against the Sabbath. Similarly, Paul argues against the dietary instructions of Leviticus 11 in Romans 14:14 & 1 Cor 10:27.
1 Cor 8:4-10 is written in regards to food offered to idols. In this passage, Paul claims that eating foods offered to idols will not alienate us from our Heavenly Father, nor will it bring us any closer to him if we abstain from such foods offered to idols. Paul’s condoning of eating foods sacrificed to idols of 1 Cor 8:4-10 thereby puts him in violation of Acts 15:20-21, which would thereby automatically put Paul in violation of Deuteronomy 17:8-13. 1 Cor 8:4-10 also puts Paul in violation of Exodus 20:1-6, Deuteronomy 5:6-10, & Revelations 2:14.

The "Paul is Just Misunderstood Defense"

This leads to one of the main defenses employed by Paulinists. Paulinists who acknowledge that the Torah is still in effect will inevitably argue that Paul’s writings are just badly misunderstood, because today we lack the proper Hebraic mindset to properly understand Paul’s letters. Paulinists argue that the Apostle Paul kept & taught Torah; the problem is that his letters are just badly misunderstood. It is true that the book of Acts records Paul teaching in the synagogue on the Sabbath day, & or otherwise keeping the Sabbath in multiple verses like Acts13:14-16, Acts 13:42, Acts 13:44, Acts 16:13, Acts 17:2, & Acts 18:4.

In comparison to most of us today, perhaps Paul the Pharisee may have been relatively unsurpassed in his keeping of the Sabbath. Yet to this day, there are countless believers who keep the Sabbath, & affirm that it must be kept by all who seek to serve our Heavenly Father. However, this does not necessarily qualify anyone & everyone who keeps the Sabbath as an author of infallible Scripture! Similarly, Paul’s keeping of the Sabbath doesn’t qualify him to be an author of infallible Scripture. Paul is clearly not qualified to be an author of Scripture because of his admitted dishonesty, & his complete failure to provide any meaningful guidance or encouragement of gentiles to keep the Commandments or Torah of our Heavenly Father in his letters.

In all of the New Testament letters written by Paul, he fails to give any practical information to gentile congregations about the Sabbath, & the importance of keeping the Sabbath. On the contrary, Paul penned several verses which clearly appear to be ambiguous attacks on the Sabbath. Similarly, Paul’s letters contain several vague, subtle, & ambiguous attacks on the dietary instructions of Leviticus 11. Paul also writes much more blatant attacks on the Torah commandment of circumcision. In addition, Paul repeatedly implied & insinuated that our Heavenly Father’s Torah is not to be kept, which automatically makes him a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13:5.

Paulinists who acknowledge that the Torah is still in effect are forced to argue that Paul did keep the Torah, & taught that it should be kept. In fact, Paul did make several positive comments about the Torah. For example in Romans 3:31, Romans 6:15, & Romans 7:12, Paul appears to be praising & advocating the Torah of our Heavenly Father. However, Paul seems to generally frame even the positive things he says about YHWH’s Torah in the setting of subtle (or even blatant) attacks on the Torah, or in the setting of a denial of the applicability of the Torah for gentile believers in YAHUSHA.

For example in Romans 3:31, Paul affirms that he establishes the law or Torah. Yet, just a few verses earlier in Romans 3:28, he states that, “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.” To this very day, gentiles reading this letter very easily come to the conclusion that it is simply not necessary to keep YHWH's Torah as we are saved by faith, according to the “Apostle Paul.”
Similarly, in Romans 6:15, Paul writes, “What then? shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” This verse seems to indicate that we are not to sin, or transgress the Torah of our Heavenly Father. Yet again in the very previous verse of Romans 6:14, Paul writes, “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.” Both verses contain the recurring, hypnotic mantra attempting to mislead the reader into thinking that they are not under the authority of our Heavenly Father’s Torah. This is clearly in violation of Deuteronomy 13:5.

Again in Romans 7:12, Paul states that , “the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.” Nevertheless, the overall theme of Romans 7:1-12 is that we are loosed from the obligations of the law as can be seen in Romans 7:6, “But now we are delivered from the Law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”

Paul’s writings have a clear pattern of giving disingenuous praise or lip service to YHWH's Torah; while in the very same passage attacking YHWH's Torah, or denying the importance of its applicability to gentiles. Essentially this results in a cognitive dissonance as Paul tends to repeat vague & ambiguous (or even blatant) attacks on the Torah or practices outlined in the Torah; while often in the same passage praising the Torah as holy, just, and good.

The dissonance in these passages could be resolved in a variety of ways. One method is to accept Paul’s assertions that while the Torah may be holy, just, & good; gentiles are simply not under the authority of the Torah. This appears to be the general consensus of mainstream Christianity.
In contrast, the Messianic community of believers affirm YAHUSHA as the Messiah, & the Torah as YHWH’s teachings, Commandments, & instructions which are binding on all who wish to serve Him. The Messianic Community tends to try to stress the positive things that Paul says about the Torah, while struggling to rationalize & justify Paul’s subtle & often blatant attacks on YHWH's Torah. The Messianic Community likes to imagine Paul as a tremendously brilliant Torah scholar who is just horribly misunderstood by the overwhelming majority in Christianity. The problem is that as a result of Paul’s rhetoric, the overwhelming majority of Christians feel that YHWH’s Torah is not binding on them. Paul’s letters encourage christians to reject YHWH’s Torah. This forces christians to fall into the trap of lawlessness, which Messiah YAHUSHA condemns in no uncertain terms in Matthew 7:21-23.
Some Paulinists will claim that Paul rejected the Torah as an authoritative set of instructions binding on the lives of all who desire to serve our Creator & Savior; that he wanted to replace the Torah with the “law of Christ”, & subsequently reaffirmed the Torah as a source of wisdom & prophetic
writings.(3) The problem with this is that Paul the Pharisee simply did not have the authority to repudiate the Torah of our Heavenly Father! For Paul the Pharisee to write against, attack, & cause others to reject living by our Heavenly Father’s Torah would automatically make Paul a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13:5.

The reality is that because of Paul’s letters, the overwhelming majority of Christians have been deceived into rejecting our Heavenly Father’s Torah for thousands of years. If Paul were such a great Torah scholar & evangelist, why have his letters caused literally billions of people to reject our Heavenly Father’s Torah for thousands of years????

"The Disciples selected Matthias, But Jesus selected Paul to be Judas' Replacement" Defense
Another favorite strategy employed by Paulinists to defend Paul’s false claims of Apostleship is to claim that Matthias was presumptuously & mistakenly selected by the remaining eleven Apostles. In contrast, they allege that Paul was selected by YAHUSHA to be His Apostle. Paulinists have claimed that the disciples were instructed to wait in Jerusalem until they received the Ruach Elohim, or Holy Spirit. Paulinists claim that the Eleven Apostles were given neither the task, nor the authority to select the twelfth Apostle. These Paulinists assert that the disciples were presumptuous in their selection of Matthias, & that YAHUSHA invalidated their selection by selecting Paul instead. To this end, they rely on the accounts of Paul’s road to Damascus experience, & Paul’s oft repeated claims of Apostleship.

However, Acts 1:15-26 is the passage which relates how Judas’ replacement was selected. Acts 1:21-26 is very important in this regard, as it specifies the selection criteria for Judas’ replacement as the 12th Apostle. To be selected as the Twelfth Apostle, the candidate had to have been selected by YAHUSHA to be a witness of His ministry, from his Baptism through to his Resurrection & Ascension. Two candidates were qualified in this respect; Joseph called Barsabas, & Matthias. The eleven Apostles prayed for the Lord to select which of the two should be the twelfth Apostle. They cast lots, & the lot fell upon Matthias. According to the Book of Acts, Matthias “was numbered with the eleven Apostles.”

Nevertheless, many Paulinists brazenly fault the real eleven Apostles for selecting Matthias because they claim they had not yet received the Holy Spirit. They claim that YAHUSHA ignored their choice by selecting Paul to be Judas’ replacement as the 12th Apostle.

The Paulinist claim that the disciples had not yet received the Holy Spirit before Matthias was selected is clearly incorrect, as documented by John 20:21-23. Furthermore, the eleven Apostles remembered that YAHUSHA’s promise of Matthew 18:20. So the eleven remaining Apostles met together, guided by the Ruach Elohim which they had all received directly from YAHUSHA Himself. They prayed that YAHUSHA would select which of the two candidates should replace Judas as the twelfth Apostle. They were confident, & had no doubt that their prayer would be heard & answered. How could they be so sure that their collective prayer would be heard & answered?

The remaining eleven Apostles knew that their prayer would be heard & answered because they remembered what YAHUSHA had told them during the last supper. YAHUSHA had promised His disciples at least three times that whatever they ask in His Name, their request would be granted. This is documented in John 14:13-14, John 15:16, & John16:23-24.

John 14:13-14
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 16: 23-24
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

They didn’t meet together to pray for beautiful wives, lovers, or harems of exquisite concubines; they didn’t pray for fabulous riches, immense wealth, mansions, or fast horses. They simply prayed that YAHUSHA would select which of the two qualified men should be the replacement for Judas’s Apostleship; & they knew that their prayer would be heard & answered.
Yet how could the eleven Apostles of YAHUSHA be certain that Judas’ replacement had to be either Barsabas or Matthias? Again, they remembered YAHUSHA’s words...

John 15:15
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, He may give it you.

John 15:27
And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Matthew 19:28
And YAHUSHA said unto them, "Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”

Paul never heard YAHUSHA say any of those words, since Paul was never selected by YAHUSHA to be a witness of His ministry. In contrast, YAHUSHA’s eleven Apostles clearly remembered that YAHUSHA had told them that He had chosen them & ordained them to be His witnesses from the beginning of His ministry, through to His resurrection & Ascension. YAHUSHA had promised that the 12 of them who had followed Him faithfully from His baptism would sit on 12 thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel in YAHUSHA’s Kingdom!

So the eleven of them met together, with the only two possible replacement candidates for Judas’ Apostleship, as well as with about a hundred and eighteen other disciples & followers of YAHUSHA. They prayed that YAHUSHA would select which of the two should replace Judas as the twelfth Apostle. They cast lots, the lot fell upon Matthias, & Matthias “was numbered with the eleven Apostles.”

Paulinists claim that YAHUSHA ignored the collective request of his eleven remaining Apostles, & invalidated the selection of Matthias. What they are really claiming is that YAHUSHA broke the promise that He repeatedly made to His disciples at least three times before His anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane! YAHUSHA is Faithful & True, & we can all be absolutely certain that He did not break the promise He repeatedly made to His disciples! Where is the verse that clearly shows YAHUSHA ever selected Paul to be an Apostle? There is none!

The simple fact of the matter is that Paul the Pharisee simply was not qualified to be one of YAHUSHA’s twelve Apostles, since YAHUSHA never selected Paul to be a witness of His Ministry. Even if Paul had been in the same room with the actual eleven Apostles & two apostolic candidates when they met to pray for a replacement, it would have changed nothing. Paul had not been selected by YAHUSHA to be a witness of His ministry from His baptism through to His resurrection & Ascension. Consequently, Paul was simply not qualified to be one of Adonai YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles. Since Paul was not one of YAHUSHA's Twelve Apostles, Paul & his letters have absolutely no Apostolic authority.

As mentioned previously, the accounts of Paul’s road to Damascus experience vary significantly. These accounts are found in Acts 9:1-20, Acts 22:4-17, & Acts 26:13-19. Of the three accounts, Paul is speaking in the first person in Acts 22:4-17 & Acts 26:13-19. These accounts do vary significantly in regards to whether or not Paul was struck blind, whether Paul fasted for 3 days or not, whether Paul was healed by Ananias or not, whether the men with Paul heard the voice or saw the light, whether the men with Paul fell to the ground or remained standing, etc... However, these differences in the accounts of Paul’s road to Damascus experience pale in comparison to the differences in what the voice from Heaven allegedly told Paul in the different accounts. The world may never know what the voice from Heaven said to Paul, if anything at all, since Paul contradicted himself so badly in his two first person accounts of his road to Damascus event. One thing is very clear & evident from all three accounts: the voice from Heaven never told Paul that he was going to be an Apostle!

At this point, it is important to remember a verse that was mentioned at the very beginning of this book, Deuteronomy 19:15. Our Savior echoes this theme in Matthew 18:16. While these verses speak of the necessity for multiple witnesses for valid judgement against an offender, the verses are often used to indicate that if something is true or important in the Scriptures, it will usually be repeated at least a couple of times.

Luke, who was Paul’s companion, referred to Paul as an Apostle twice (Acts 14:4, Acts 14:14). Similarly, Paulinists will be able to point to endless “church fathers” who acknowledged Paul’s Apostleship. However, it is not Luke & the church fathers who were responsible for numbering, appointing, or selecting YAHUSHA’s disciples & Apostles.

The word “apostle” is used 19 times in the New Testament. Of those 19 uses, Paul proclaims himself to be an Apostle about 16 times! Yet there is simply not even one verse anywhere in the New Testament Scriptures in which any of YAHUSHA’s actual twelve Apostles acknowledge Paul as being an apostle. Even more revealing is the fact that there is not even a single verse anywhere in the New Testament Scriptures in which YAHUSHA identifies Paul as being an Apostle!!

Paulinists attempt to discredit the Apostolic selection of Matthias as Judas‘ replacement in Acts 1:15-26 by claiming that YAHUSHA selected Paul. By doing this, they are effectively claiming that YAHUSHA broke the promise that He made to His actual disciples three times, that whatever they prayed for in His Name would be granted.
Similarly, Paulinists that take this approach are forced to ignore the only selection criteria required to be an Apostle. The candidate had to have been selected by YAHUSHA to be a witness of His ministry, from His baptism through to His Resurrection & Ascension. The plain simple truth is that Paul simply was not qualified to be one of the twelve Apostles. There is not a single verse in the New Testament Scriptures in which YAHUSHA identifies Paul as an Apostle, with the possible exception of Revelations 2:2!
It has been thoroughly established that Paul was not qualified to be one of Adonai YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles. As a result, Paul’s writings have absolutely no Apostolic authority whatsoever. Paul’s letters should never have been included with the actual Scriptures, & should be largely ignored for those seeking to worship our Heavenly Father in Spirit & in Truth.

The "but Paul wrote 70% of the New Testament!" Defense

Another remarkably odious defense that Paulinists employ is the, “throw the baby out with the bathwater” argument. Devoted Paulinists will say that Paul wrote 70% of the New Testament. Consequently, these Paulinists claim that no one should even dare to question Paul's writings! Luke, a close associate of Paul’s, wrote the Gospel of Luke & the book of Acts. The second half of the book of Acts is for the most part devoted to Paul. Some utterly shameless Paulinists will even go as far as claiming the whole Bible should be discarded if one attempts to even dare question or examine the reliability or veracity of Paul’s writings!

This is a pathetically weak argument that is clearly a desperate attempt by Paulinists to prevent any critical examination of Paul & his letters. Deuteronomy 8:3 & Matthew 4:4 both inform us that "man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of YHWH!" Paul repeatedly admitted to writing foolishness(2 Corinthians 11:23 & 2 Corinthians 12:11) & dishonesty(Romans 3:7 & & Corinthians 12:16). In Ezekiel 36:27, our Creator tells us that His Spirit will cause us to be obedient to Him...
Ezekiel 36:27
And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Given that Paul repeatedly wrote that "we are not under the Law", & that "all things are lawful", the inclusion of Paul's letters with the actual Scriptures have caused billions of people to disobey YHWH's Torah for thousands of years! Consequently, it is exceedingly clear that Paul's letters were not inspired by the Spirit of YHWH!
Deuteronomy 4:2 & Deuteronomy 12:32 both warn us not to add to or take away from YHWH’s Word. So for all the dangerously misguided Paulinists using the "throw out the whole Bible if you dare question Paul" argument; please think twice before daring to advocate that YHWH's Torah, the Prophets, & the Gospels should be discarded!

Deuteronomy 13:5 warns us to beware of the false prophet who would try to persuade us to not keep YHWH’s Commandments. In Matthew 7:15-20, Adonai YAHUSHA warns us to beware of false prophets, & that we would know them by their fruits. Paul’s letters serve as the only Scriptural justification for disobeying YHWH’s Commandment to keep the Sabbath day, for disregarding YHWH’s dietary instructions of Leviticus 11, etc. As such, Paul’s letters have been instrumental in causing billions of Christians to disobey YHWH’s Commandments for thousands of years. That is Paul’s fruit! That is why Paul is a false prophet, & why Paul’s letters have no place being included in YHWH’s Scriptures. In addition, since Paul was not one of YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles, Paul’s writings have absolutely no Apostolic authority whatsoever.

The "Luke exonerated" Paul Defense

Paul the pharisee's devotees will also invariably cite Luke, author of the Gospel of Luke & the book of Acts, as a reliable witness of the validity of Paul's "(a)postleship" & authority.

However, please remember that Luke faithfully recorded that Paul the pharisee gave remarkably self- contradictory first person accounts of what the voice from Heaven told him on the RTD(road to Damascus). In his defence before the men of Israel in Acts 22, Paul claimed that the voice from Heaven said the following on the RTD...

Acts 22:5-11
...Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me?... I am Jesus of Nazareth whom thou persecutest... Arise & go into Damascus & there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.

Yet before Agrippa, Paul claimed the voice told him ...

Acts 26:13-19
...Saul, Saul why persecutest thou me? It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks... I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise & stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister & a witness, both of these things which thou hast seen & of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; delivering thee from the people & from the gentiles unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes & to turn them from darkness to light & from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins & inheritance among them which are
sanctified by faith that is in me.

As mentioned in previous messages, this kind of undeniably self-contradictory testimony would definitely identify Paul the pharisee as an unreliable or false witness in a court of law!

Luke also faithfully records that Paul repeatedly disobeyed the Holy Spirit:
in regards to ...
a.) the Holy Spirit’s requirement that Barnabas & Paul work together(Acts 13:2/Acts 15:36-40)
&
b.) in regards to the Holy Spirit's warning to not go to Jerusalem(Acts 21:3-4 & Acts 21:10-13)
As mentioned previously, disobedience to the Spirit of YHWH is a very serious offence....

Luke carefully recorded that the Holy Spirit repeatedly used other people to warn Paul not to go to
Jerusalem. Jesuswordsonly.com brilliantly raises the question of why should that be necessary if Paul were so full of the Holy Spirit? (Acts 21:3-4 & Acts 21:10-13)
https://jesuswordsonly.com/recommendedreading/356-did-paul-ever-truly-meet-jesus.html

Luke similarly does a marvellous job of documenting that when Paul the pharisee was confronted by
James about what the Torah keeping believers had been hearing about Paul (that Paul was teaching against keeping our Creator’s Commandments). Paul the pharisee didn’t dare to make any claims to James that, “we are not under the Law”, “the Law has been done away with”, “All things are Lawful for me” or anything like that. Paul the pharisee simply kept his mouth
shut & did what he was told to do by James. This clearly indicates that Paul knew that he had absolutely no authority of any sort to try to abrogate or diminish our Creator’s Commandments in any way. (Acts 21:18-28)

In Acts 21:18-28, Luke carefully documents that after Paul had written most of his letters Paul the pharisee took part in a public demonstration to show that:
a. he never taught against the keeping of our Creator’s Commandments, & that
b. he kept the Creator’s Commandments!!
Of course this should make it very difficult to rely on Paul’s letters as the only Scriptural justification for disobeying & disregarding our Creator’s Commandments!

Luke also meticulously records that in the two different judicial proceedings of Acts 24 & 25, Paul
claimed that he “believed all things written in the Law & the Prophets”, & that basically in no way had he ever offended anything regarding the Law. Paul’s testimony is clearly not compatible with the recurring theme of his letters that, “the Law is done away with”, “we are not under the law”, & that “all things are lawful for me”, etc...
So either Paul was telling the truth in those judicial proceedings, & his letters are just horribly written & completely worthlessly unreliable... or Paul perjured himself & gave false testimony in those judicial proceedings because he really was writing in his letters that “the Law is done away with”, “we are not under the Law”, & that “all things are Lawful for me”. Either way, Paul’s letters are completely unreliable as a result.

Luke also fantastically documents that Paul repeatedly perjured himself or gave false testimony in
the judicial proceedings of Acts 23, 24, & 25 https://www.wemustallrepent.com/waspaulreallyblameless

Given all these wonderful examples of Luke’s meticulous documentation above, any reasonable person should be extremely reluctant to simply blindly accept any uncorroborated claims made by Paul the pharisee & notorious false prophet!

The "2nd Peter 3:15" Defense
It goes without saying that one of the favorite Paulinist bulwarks against any critical evaluation of Paul’s letters is 2nd Peter 3:15. However, 2nd Peter 3:15 is not the sterling endorsement of Paul that Paulinists would have us all believe! The book Jesus Words Only & its corresponding website, JesusWordsOnly.com, have done an absolutely magnificent job of dissecting & critically examining 2nd Peter 3:15!(4)

First of all, in regards to 2 Peter 3:15, this sort of defense of Paul is largely irrelevant because it does not really address the basic problems with Paulʼs writings. The Apostle Peter simply can’t be held responsible for all the multitude of false claims, false boasts, & false teachings found in Paul’s letters. Similarly, nothing the Apostle Peter could say could ever exonerate Paul from his repeated attacks against the keeping of our Creator’s Commandments, or the other host of false claims, & general falsehoods that permeate pharisee Paul's letters.

Similarly, nothing the Apostle Peter could say could ever exonerate Paul from his repeated attacks against the keeping of our Creator’s Commandments, or the other host of false claims, & general falsehoods that permeate pharisee Paul's letters.
The 2nd Peter defence seeks to justify Paul based on something that the Apostle Peter may or may not have said. In fact, many people have said for a long time that 2 Peter was not actually written by the Apostle Peter. In Bruce Metzgerʼs book, The Canon of the New Testament: Its Origin, Development, and Significance, he relates how Calvin applied certain linguistic tests to the authorship of various books. Calvin found that the styles of 2nd Peter differs from that of 1st Peter, and concluded that 2nd Peter was probably not written by the apostle Peter.(4)
Also, Polycarp & Iranaeus knew only of 1st Peter and had not heard of 2nd Peter as per Peter Kirbyʼs website: www.earlychristianwritings.com/2peter.html .(3) Another big giveaway that 2nd Peter was probably not written by the Apostle Peter is that “Peter” refers to Paulʼs writings as if they were included with and on the same par as “Scripture” and this didnʼt happen until long after the actual Apostle Peterʼs death.(4)

Furthermore, according to the United Methodist Church’s Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible, their article on 2nd Peter acknowledges that it was impossible to ascribe the authorship of 2 Peter to the Apostle Peter. (4)

Even if the assumption is made that Peter actually wrote 2nd Peter, many scholars & people who believe in Paul’s "apostleship" feel that 2 Peter 3:15-16 is actually putting Paul down!
2 Peter 3:15-18
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen

What Jesus Words Only points out is that although Paul always referred to himself as an Apostle, yet "Peter" refers to him only as a beloved brother. Peter did kindly refer to Paul as a beloved brother, yet did not confirm or even acknowledge Paul’s repeated claims of apostleship. Even someone entering a congregation or fellowship for the very first time could be addressed as a dear brother or beloved brother. Clearly not everyone in the congregation could be an Apostle. In 2nd Peter 3:15-18, Paul’s self proclaimed “apostleship” is never even acknowledged!

The verse also indicates that Paul was speaking with his own fallible, earthly wisdom (sophia G4678); not the true inspired words of Elohim!

In addition, Jesus Words Only points out that the phrase "hagios graphe" is generally used to refer to our Creator's "holy" or kadosh Inspired & Infallible Scriptures like the Torah, the Prophets, etc. Hagios (G0040) meaning "sacred or holy", & graphe (G1124) meaning writings. In contrast, graphe by itself would be used to denote more everyday writings like letters, notes, tabloids, basically anything written down. In 2nd Peter 3:15-17, Paul's letters are not referred to as hagios graphe, or inspired Scripture. Instead, Paul's letters are referred to as just graphe, ordinary everyday writings.

The translators used “difficult & hard to understand” to translate the greek word, dysnoetas (G1425). In the piece, Alexander the False Prophet, by the early church leader Lucian, the greek word dysnoetas (G1425) is used in Lucian's ridicule of Alexander, to mean “nonsensical”. He states that Alexander’s responses to Lucian's queries were “silly & nonsensical (dysnoetas G:1425), every one”. So around the time of Paul’s letters, the greek word, dysnoetas, is documented as having been used in ridicule to mean nonsensical!

Taking all this into account, 2 Peter 3:15-20 isn’t the glowing recommendation of Paul that most Paulinists would like to think after all…
2 Peter 3:15-18
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother (not apostle) Paul also according to the wisdom (G4678 sophia: the fallible earthly wisdom which belongs to men, not the inspired & infallible Word of YHWH) given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood (G1425 dysnoetas: nonsensical), which they that are unlearned & unstable wrest as they do also the other scriptures(ordinary everyday writings like letters) unto their own destruction…Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked(G113 athesmos: one who breaks through the restraint of law….lawlessness), fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

According to 2nd Peter 3:15, it is not those questioning Paul’s authority or the validity of Paul’s letters that will be destroyed, but those who are led into the error of the wicked (G113 athesmos: one who breaks through the restraint of law….lawlessness)

Unfortunately, the majority of Christianity today accepts without question Paul’s “apostleship”. Yet they also reject the Torah of our Heavenly Father. 2nd Peter 3:15-18 warns against being led away into exactly this kind of lawlessness… At any rate, it is really irrelevant what the Apostle Peter may or may not have said about Paul. The Apostle Peter simply can not be held responsible for what Paul the pharisee wrote in his letters! What really matters is what Paul said in his letters, whether his writings are true or false, and whether Paul upholds or attacks the Torah.

All of the above info on 2nd Peter came practically verbatim from the incredible book, Jesus’ Words Only, & the most excellent website article on 2nd Peter....

Paul’s letters form the only NT justification for the religion of Christianity to disregard & disobey our Creator’s Commandments or Torah. When Paul's letters & antinomian claims are critically examined, his followers & devotees invariably try to defend him by mentioning his associates & acquaintances as being witnesses of his apostleship & ministry. However, there is simply not a single verse in the entire New Testament in which either Ananias, Apollos, Aquila, Barnabas, Luke, Priscilla, Silas, Stephen, Timothy, or any of his other acquaintances specifically stated that they believed that Paul the pharisee was given the specific authority to abrogate or diminish our Creator's Torah in any way. Even if there were such a verse, just because an individual or group of people believed that Paul the pharisee had the authority to do away with our Creator's Torah does not make that belief true!

Similarly, is anyone able to produce a single verse in which the Apostle Peter, the Apostle John, any of the other Twelve Apostles, James, or any of the elders in the congregation of believers in Jerusalem congregation clearly stated that they acknowledged that Paul the pharisee had been given the specific authority to attack, to denigrate, & to do away with our Creator’s Commandments or Torah? Where is the verse indicating that the Apostolic assembly in Jerusalem acknowledged that specific authority in Paul the pharisee?

Finally, is anyone able to produce a single verse in which our Creator, our Saviour, or the Spirit of YHWH bestowed on Paul in no uncertain terms the specific Authority to attack, to denigrate, & to do away with our Creator’s Commandments or Torah?

If the reader is unable to produce even a single verse in which our Creator, our Saviour, or the Spirit of YHWH confers on Paul the pharisee in no uncertain terms the specific authority to do away with our Creator’s Commandments or Torah, then you {dear reader} have just proven that Paul the pharisee is most definitely a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13:5 & Matthew 7:15-20.

Passages Referenced in Above Text

1 Kings 13:1-32
And, behold, there came a man of Elohim out of Yahudah by the WORD of YHWH unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. And he cried against the altar in the WORD of YHWH, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith YHWH; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee. And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which YHWH hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him. The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of Elohim had given by the WORD of YHWH. And the king answered and said unto the man of Elohim, Intreat now the face of YHWH thy Elohim, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of Elohim besought YHWH, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before. And the king said unto the man of Elohim, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward. And the man of Elohim said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place: For so was it charged me by the WORD of YHWH, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest. So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.

Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of Elohim had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father. And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of Elohim went, which came from Yahudah. And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon, And went after the man of Elohim, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of Elohim that camest from Yahudah? And he said, I am. Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread. And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place: For it was said to me by the WORD of YHWH, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest. He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the WORD of YHWH, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him. So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.

And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the WORD of YHWH came unto the prophet that brought him back: And he cried unto the man of Elohim that came from Yahudah, saying, Thus saith YHWH, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the Mouth of YHWH, and hast not kept the commandment which YHWH thy Elohim commanded thee, But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which Elohim did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back. And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase. And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcase: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.
And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of Elohim, who was disobedient unto the WORD of YHWH: therefore YHWH hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the WORD of YHWH, which he spake unto him. And he spake to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass. And they saddled him. And he went and found his carcase cast in the way, and the ass and the lion standing by the carcase: the lion had not eaten the carcase, nor torn the ass. And the prophet took up the carcase of the man of Elohim, and laid it upon the ass, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to the city, to mourn and to bury him. And he laid his carcase in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother! And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of Elohim is buried; lay my bones beside his bones: For the saying which he cried by the word of YHWH against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.
Deuteronomy 13:5
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from YHWH your Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which YHWH thy Elohim commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.

Acts 15
And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved. When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question. And being brought on their way by the church, they passed through Phenice and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles: and they caused great joy unto all the brethren. And when they were come to Jerusalem, they were received of the church, and of the apostles and elders, and they declared all things that Elohim had done with them. But there rose up certain of the sect of the Pharisees which believed, saying, That it was needful to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter. And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago Elohim made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And Elohim, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Then all the multitude kept silence, and gave audience to Barnabas and Paul, declaring what miracles and wonders God had wrought among the Gentiles by them.

And after they had held their peace, James answered, saying, Men and brethren, hearken unto me: Simeon hath declared how God at the first did visit the Gentiles, to take out of them a people for his name. And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things. Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath day.
Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren: And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia: Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, to whom we gave no such commandment: It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth. For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle: Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation. And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed them. And after they had tarried there a space, they were let go in peace from the brethren unto the apostles. Notwithstanding it pleased Silas to abide there still. Paul also and Barnabas continued in Antioch, teaching .... and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Galatians 2
Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised: And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles, Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid. For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

A15G2 Sequence
-
Men from Judea came to Antioch preaching that gentiles must be circumcised to be saved- Acts 15:1 & Galatians 2:4. (Both chapters describe same initial conflict)
-
This produced disagreement & confusion in the congregation of Antioch- Acts 15:2 & implied in Galatians 2 account.
-
Barnabas & Paul disagree with men from Judea’s assertion that gentiles must be circumcised to be saved-Acts 15:2 Galatians 2:5.
-
Barnabas & Paul sent to question Apostles & Elders in Jerusalem about this matter- Acts 15:2 & Galatians 2:1-4.
-
James, the Apostles, & Elders give audience to Barnabas & Paul, hearing their question- Acts 15:4 & Galatians 2:6-9.(This is the Jerusalem Council of Acts 15.)
-
James, the Apostles, & Elders discuss the question of whether gentiles should be circumcised to be saved- Acts 15:5-12 & implied in Galatians account.
-
James announces their decision on the matter: Acts 15:13-21 & Galatians 2:10. (According to James in Acts 15: avoid idolatry, sexual immorality, things strangled, & blood; according to Paul in Galatians 2:10: “remember the poor”.)
-
James, the Apostles, & Elders send Judas & Silas back to Antioch with Barnabas & Paul to convey the decision- Acts 15:22-30 & Galatians 2:12 . (Judas & Silas sent to Antioch with Barnabas & Paul; no mention of Peter going to Antioch at that time according to the Acts account.)
-
Decision on the matter conveyed to the congregation in Antioch- Acts 15:31-33, not mentioned specifically in Galatians account.
-
Barnabas & Paul have a major disagreement, which caused them to separate- Acts 15:36-40 & Galatians 2:13. (This major disagreement between Barnabas & Paul occurred only once, & they never worked together again. Both Acts 15 & Galatians 2 mention same initial conflict, relatively the same sequence (except Paul’s account becomes fictional & self serving), & the same final disagreement between Barnabas & Paul. This clearly indicates that both chapters were discussing the same sequence of events.

Deuteronomy 17:8-13
If there arise a matter too hard for thee in judgement, between blood & blood, between plea & plea, & between stroke & stroke, being matters of controversy within thy gates: then shalt thou arise & get thee up into the place which YHWH thy Elohim shall choose; And thou shalt come unto the priests the Levites, and unto the judge that shall be in those days, and enquire; and they shall shew thee the sentence of judgement:
And thou shalt do according to the sentence, which they of that place which YHWH shall choose shall shew thee; & thou shalt observe to do according to all that they inform thee: According to the sentence of the Torah(law) which they shall teach thee, and according to the judgement which they shall tell thee, thou shalt do: thou shalt not decline from the sentence which they shall shew thee, to the right hand, not to the left.
And the man that will do presumptuously, and will not hearken unto the priest that standeth to minister there before YHWH thy Elohim, or unto the judge, even that man shall die: and thou shalt put away the evil from Israel. And all the people shall hear, & fear, & do no more presumptuously.

Acts 11:1-18
And the Apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of Elohim. And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying, I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me: Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air. And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat. But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth. But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common. And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven. And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me. And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man's house: And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter; Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified Elohim, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Acts 9:1-9
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, “I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.” And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, “Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.” And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man:but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

Acts 21
1And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara: 2And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth. 3Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden. 4And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem. 5And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed. 6And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again. 7And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day. 8And the next day we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. 9And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. 10And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. 11And when he was come unto us, he took Paul's girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. 12And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. 13Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. 14And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done. 15And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem. 16There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge. 17And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly. 18And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present. 19And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. 20And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the Law: 21And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs. 22What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come. 23Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them; 24Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law. 25As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication. 26Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them. 27And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him, 28Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place. 29(For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.) 30And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut. 31And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar. 32Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul. 33Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done. 34And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle. 35And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people. 36For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him. 37And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek? 38Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers? 39But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people. 40And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

Acts 22:5-11
As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished. And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me. And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest. And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me. And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.

Acts 26:12-20
Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision: But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Exodus 20:1-6
And Elohim spake all these words, saying, I am YHWH thy Elohim, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I YHWH thy Elohim am a jealous El, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Deuteronomy 12:28-32
Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of YHWH thy Elohim.
When YHWH thy Elohim shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto YHWH thy Elohim: for every abomination to YHWH, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods. What thing soever I command you, observe to do it:thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

Revelation 2:2
I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
