Did Paul Preach The Same Gospel As Adonai YAHUSHA & His Real Disciples?

What was the Gospel or good news preached by John the Baptist, Adonai YAHUSHA & His actual Disciples/Apostles?

Mark 1:4

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.

Mark 1: 14-15

Now after that John was put in prison, YAHUSHA came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of Elohim, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mark 2:16

When YAHUSHA heard it, He saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matthew 4:17

From that time YAHUSHA began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Matthew 9:13

But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mark 6:7-12

And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits; And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse: But be shod with sandals; and not put on two coats...And they went out, and preached that men should repent.

Luke 24:45-47

Then opened He their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

But what does it mean to "repent", or what exactly is "repentance"?

1 John 3:4

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the Law: for sin is the transgression of the Law.

Deuteronomy 6:25

And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before YHWH our Elohim, as He hath commanded us.

Ezekiel 18:21

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is Lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.

Sin is defined by the Apostle John as transgression of our YHWH’s Commandments, or disobedience to YHWH.. Righteousness is defined in Deuteronomy 6:25 as the zealous keeping of YHWH’s Commandments, or obedience to YHWH. In Ezekiel 18:21, YHWH our Creator says, “… if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all My statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.”

According to YHWH our Creator, repentance entails turning away from our sins in addition to doing that which is lawful & right. In other words repentance entails turning away from our transgressions & violations of YHWH’s Commandments(or turning away from our disobedience to YHWH), and returning in submission & obedience to YHWH by keeping His Commandments! Thus there can be no repentance without keeping YHWH’s Commandments!

Paul did repeatedly use the words "repent" & "repentance" in his letters. However, Paul also repeatedly claimed that "we are not under the Law", thus attacking or disputing the necessity of keeping YHWH's Commandments. Therefore the repentance Paul referred to was a repentance without keeping YHWH's Commandments.

To summarize, please consider the following definitions of repentance....

definitions of repentance

YHWH our Creator's = stop sinning + keep YHWH's Commandments/Instructions/Torah

Paul the pharisee's = stop sinning + don't keep YHWH's Commandments/Instructions/Torah

Whose  definition of "repentance" do you think is correct? Hint : the pharisee's definition is complete nonsense...

To break or to not keep YHWH's Commandments is the very definition of sin. The Messiah & His Twelve Apostles, & all the other true Prophets were preaching & advocating returning in obedience to YHWH our Creator by keeping of His Commandments. However, Paul makes the claim that we do not have to keep our YHWH our Creator's Commandments, thus Paul's concept of repentance is that of a false repentance, without obedience to our Creator.

The Gospel preached by Adonai YAHUSHA & His Apostles is the good news of repentance for remission of sins. Our Heavenly Father wants all of us to turn away from our false religious traditions, our sins, & the wicked ways of the world, & to return to Him in obedience to His Commandments. He wants us to keep His Torah, His commandments, & live. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, rather He wants us to repent from our wicked ways & try to serve Him obediently. YHWH's Torah is at the heart of the Gospel of repentance & remission of sins preached by Adonai YAHUSHA & His Apostles.

A search of Paul’s letters reveals the following verse as the only occasion in which Paul the Pharisee used the word "repent" in his letters.

2 Cor 7:8-12

For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death...

Similarly, a search of Paul’s letters for the word "repentance" leads to the following few verses...

Romans 2:4-11

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance...

Romans 11:29-32

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

2 Timothy 2:25

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

In 1 Tim 2:7,  Paul the pharisee claimed to be a teacher of the gentiles in faith & truth. The Gospel preached by John the Baptist, Adonai YAHUSHA, & His true Disciples/Apostles is the Good News of repentance for the remission of sins. As stated previously, this entails turning away from our false religious traditions, our own sinful ways & the wicked ways of the world, in order to return in submission & obedience to the instructions & Commandments of our Heavenly Father. (See Ezekiel 18 below)

Paul was certainly aware of the true gospel because he did state it perfectly before Agrippa(Acts 26:20). Similarly, the book of Acts documents Paul preaching repentance to different gentile congregations in Acts 14:15, Acts 17:30, & Acts 20:18-20. In addition, of course Paul does repeatedly use the words "repent", & "repentance" in his letters. Yet, any explanation or expounding on the theme of repentance & what that entails as found in Ezekiel 18 is curiously absent from Paul’s New Testament letters to gentile congregations. Paul fails to adequately explain the concept of repentance to gentile congregations, nor does he really even attempt to in his letters! On the contrary, Paul’s letters have led countless gentile congregations for thousands of years to the completely false conclusion that the Torah of our Heavenly Father is no longer in effect for them! Thus Paul's use of the word "repent" & "repentance" is referring to a false pauline repentance without keeping YHWH’s Commandments. Romans 3:28, Romans 4:5, Romans 7:6, Gal 2:16, Gal 5:4, & Ephesians 2:8-9 are all verses in which Paul implies that what we believe about Christ is more important than trying to keep the Torah or Law of our Heavenly Father.

Romans 3:28

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.

Romans 4:5

But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Romans 7:6

But now we are delivered from the Law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

Gal 2:16

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the Law: for by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified.

Gal 5:4

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Similarly, in the following verses Paul tries to persuade believers in YAHUSHA the Saviour that "we are not under the Law."

Romans 3:28

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.

Romans 6:14

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.

Romans 7:6

But now we are delivered from the Law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

2 Corinthians 3:6-11

Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Galatians 3:23-25

But before faith came, we were kept under the Law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Galatians 5:18

But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the Law.

The verses above are a sampling of Paul's repeated & false claims that "we are not under the Law", or some variation thereof. While the book of Acts does document Paul preaching repentance to gentiles on different occasions as mentioned above, the general gist & overwhelming theme of Paul's letters is that our Creator's Torah is not applicable to nor authoritative over believers in YAHUSHA the Messiah. Thus Paul's letters are directly opposed to the very message of repentance preached by YAHUSHA & His Apostles!

It is indisputable that Paul the pharisee in his letters repeatedly writes & argues that we do not have to keep YHWH’s Commandments. In Romans 3:28, Romans 6:14, Romans 7:6, 2 Corinthians 3:6-11, & Galatians 3:23-25, Galatians 5:18, etc., Paul basically claims that “we are not under the Law”, that we are not obligated or required to keep YHWH’s Commandments, or that YHWH’s Commandments have been “done away” with, or some such variation. All these claims made by Paul are basically attacks against the keeping of our Creator's Commandments, something which can only inevitably lead to further transgression & violation of  YHWH’s Commandments. Violation & transgression of YHWH’s Commandments is the very definition of sin. So Paul's letters with their repeated claims that, "we are not under the Law" are instrumental & foundational in causing Christians to sin & be disobedient to YHWH our Creator!

Exodus 31:12-17

And YHWH spake unto Moses, saying, Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am YHWH that doth separate you. Ye shall keep the Sabbath therefore; for it is kadosh unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, kadosh to YHWH: whosoever doeth any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days YHWH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

Romans, 14:5-6

One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it...

For example, in Exodus (& many other verses) our Creator commands us & reminds us to keep His Sabbath days. In Romans 14:5-6, without specifically mentioning the Sabbath, Paul appears to question the validity or the necessity of keeping our Creator's Sabbath days. Consequently in the practice of the religion of Christianity, our Creator’s Sabbaths are completely & absolutely disregarded & disobeyed for the most part, with the only Scriptural basis for this blatant disobedience of our Creator coming from Paul’s letters. To violate or transgress YHWH’s Commandment to keep His Sabbath is sinful. From the Paulinist's perspective, there's absolutely nothing wrong with disregarding & disobeying YHWH’s Commandment to keep His Sabbath days. Thus Paul’s letters & the paulinist concept of “repentance” without keeping our Creator’s Commandments is antithetical to & irreconcilable with the true gospel of repentance preached by John the Baptist, the Messiah & His Twelve Apostles, & the other true Prophets like Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, etc.

The true gospel of repentance preached by the Messiah & His Twelve Apostles as well as the other true Prophets of our Creator entails turning away from our violations & transgressions of our Creator’s Commandments, & returning in submission & obedience to our Creator by keeping His Commandments. Paul repeatedly wrote against keeping our Creator's Commandments, as the overwhelming majority in Christianity agree. The repentance that Paul referred to in his letters must by definition be a false repentance, since there can be no repentance without obedience to  YHWH our Creator!

How could Paul’s claim of 1 Tim 2:7 possibly be true, given Paul’s absolutely dismal failure to adequately address or relay in any of his letters the very Good News of repentance for remission of sins preached by YAHUSHA & His Disciples?

Passages Referenced in Above Text

1 Tim 2:7

Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

Acts 26:20

But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Ezekiel 18

The word of YHWH came unto me again, saying, What mean ye, that ye use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge? As I live, saith Adonai YHWH, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right, And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour's wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman, And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man, Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments, to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, Adonai YHWH.

If he beget a son that is a robber, a shedder of blood, and that doeth the like to any one of these things, And that doeth not any of those duties, but even hath eaten upon the mountains, and defiled his neighbour's wife, Hath oppressed the poor and needy, hath spoiled by violence, hath not restored the pledge, and hath lifted up his eyes to the idols, hath committed abomination, Hath given forth upon usury, and hath taken increase: shall he then live? he shall not live: he hath done all these abominations; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon him.

Now, lo, if he beget a son, that seeth all his father's sins which he hath done, and considereth, and doeth not such like, That hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, hath not defiled his neighbour's wife, Neither hath oppressed any, hath not withholden the pledge, neither hath spoiled by violence, but hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment, That hath taken off his hand from the poor, that hath not received usury nor increase, hath executed my judgments, hath walked in my statutes; he shall not die for the iniquity of his father, he shall surely live. As for his father, because he cruelly oppressed, spoiled his brother by violence, and did that which is not good among his people, lo, even he shall die in his iniquity.

Yet say ye, Why? doth not the son bear the iniquity of the father? When the son hath done that which is lawful and right, and hath kept all my statutes, and hath done them, he shall surely live. The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saithAdonai YHWH: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.

Yet ye say, The way of Adonai is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of Adonai is not equal.

O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal? Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith Adonai YHWH. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith Adonai YHWH: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
