The Names of Our Creator & Savior
What is our Creator's Name? Our Creator's Name is rendered most frequently as "LORD" or "GOD" in all capitals in the KJV version of the Bible. However, using a Strong's Concordance will aid in determining our Heavenly Father's Name as written in the original Hebrew manuscripts. Recall that H3068 was the Strong's number for "LORD". The Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon excerpt included with the entry for H3068 explains that the masoretic vowels used for H3068 were actually the vowels of another word, superimposed on H3068. This was done because of the religious tradition which developed after the destruction of Herod's temple that the Creator's Name was too sacred for ordinary men to pronounce. This religious effort to obscure & disguise the Creator's Name which was started by the Jews after the destruction of Herod's temple was apparently continued by subsequent Christian translators & editors. This religious effort to obscure & disguise the Creator's Name has been so successful to the extent that many Christians don't even realize that they are unaware of our Creator's Name!

Note in the comments from the Gesenius' Hebrew-Chaldee lexicon that the Masoretic vowels used for YHWH, are actually the vowels used to pronounce another word. So the pronunciations of "Jehovah" & "Yehovah" used in Strong's are almost certainly incorrect.
Our Creator’s Name is present in the Hebrew Scriptures over 6,500 times! Unfortunately because of religious traditions, His name has effectively been edited out of most versions of His Scriptures in English. Our Creator’s Name is given in Exodus 3:15 as YHWH. YHWH is the English transliteration of our Heavenly Father’s four letter Name in Hebrew... Yud Heh Waw Heh.
YHWH in Hebraic Scripts
The image in blue is a paleo-hebraic script which was in use primarily before Israel’s Babylonian exile. In black is a post Babylonian exile script, which is still in use today. Dr. Chris Koster has written excellent articles on the pronunciation of our Heavenly Father’s Name. According to Dr. Koster & others, our Heavenly Father’s Name is pronounced YaHuWeH(YaHu-Way).(1) Alternatively, Dr. Stephen Pidgeon & the publishers of the Cepher advocate the pronunciation of His Name as "YaHuWaH".(2, 3) It appears that the exact pronunciation of His four letter Name may be difficult for many of us to correctly identify with absolute certainty. Nevertheless, our Heavenly Father is referred to as YAH in Exodus 15:2, Exodus 17:16, Psalm 68:4, Psalm 68:18, Psalm 77:11, Psalm 89:8, & about 43 additional verses in the Hebrew Scriptures.* The pronunciation of YAH has been preserved for us in the word HallelluYAH, which means “praise YAH”. Similarly, the pronunciation of "YaHu" is preserved in the names of prophets such as YirmeYaHu(Jeremiah), & YashaYaHu(Isaiah).
Similarly, our Messiah’s real Name has also been completely edited out of the English New Testament. In His lifetime, our Savior was never called, referred to, or known as "Jesus"! In other words our Savior’s Name was not & simply is not "Jesus"! The original 1611KJV had no letter "J", as that letter had not yet even been developed. Names that are presently spelled with a "J", were spelled with an "i" in the original 1611 KJV. Given that the name "Jesus" wasn't even developed by the time of the original 1611 KJV, it's an absolute fact that our Messiah was never called, "Jesus" during His lifetime. Therefore, "Jesus" was never His Name, regardless of how many people may be emotionally attached to that name at present.

Note absence of the letter "J", & the use of "i" instead of "J". https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/1611_Matthew-Chapter-1/
Many in the so called "Hebrew Roots Movement" prefer to refer to our Messiah as "Yeshua", Strong's H3442. H3442 is basically a contraction of H3091(YAHUSHA), & is found a total of 29 times in the Hebrew Scriptures. Those who advocate calling our Messiah "Yeshua" have manuscript support from the Aramaic Peshitta & the Shem Tov Hebrew Matthew, which both refer to our Messiah as "Yeshua", which means "he is saved" according to Strong's Concordance.

Note that the origin of "Yeshua" is H3091, YAHUSHA.

While there may not be any surviving manuscript support for H3091 (YAHUSHA) as the Name of our Messiah, there is significant textual support for this Name as given below.
1.
Messiah's Name = Name of Joshua, son of Nun: Acts 7:45, Hebrews 4:8
It is widely acknowledged that the name of "Joshua" the son of Nun is the same as the Messiah's Name because of Acts 7:45 & Hebrews 4:8.
Acts 7:44-46
44Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen. 45Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; 46Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob.
The passage above speaks of the children of Israel with the Tabernacle of Witness in the wilderness, being led into the Promised Land or possession of the Gentiles by "Jesus". It is clearly documented in the book of Joshua that Joshua the son of Nun brought the children of Israel into the Promised Land after Moses' death. In Acts 7:45, "Joshua" son of Nun is referred to as "Jesus", indicating that the Messiah has the same name of "Joshua" the son of Nun
Hebrews 4:8
7Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. 9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Again, Joshua, the son of Nun, who brought the children of Israel out of the wilderness & into the Promised Land is referred to as "Jesus", because they both have the same name.
The Hebrew text reveals that the name of Joshua the son of Nun was spelled Yud Heh Vav Shin Ayin, or יהןשע. "Joshua" the son of Nun had been renamed by Moses in Numbers 13:16.
Numbers 13:16
These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Husha the son of Nun, YAHUSHA.
The son of Nun's original name, H1954 (Husha, Heh Vav Shin Ayin, הןשע), means "salvation", or "He is salvation". Husha comes from the root H3467 (yasha, yud shin ayin, ישע) which means "to save". Adding our Creator's Name YHWH (Yud Heh Vav Heh, יהןה) to yasha (yud shin ayin, ישע) produces the name, YAHUSHA (Yud Heh Vav Shin Ayin, יהןשע). Thus, this is the true name of "Joshua" son of Nun, & of our Messiah... YAHUSHA, which means "YHWH is Salvation".

Strong's H3091 identified as the Hebrew origin of G2424
G2424, "Iesous", is the Strong’s number for “Jesus”. See the Screen Capture of the Strong's Concordance entry for G2424 from Blueletter Bible below.
Screen Capture from Blueletter Bible's Strong's Concordance entry for G2424, "Iesous".
Note the Hebrew origin for G2424 from H3091,YAHUSHA, which means "YHWH is Salvation".
Strong's Concordance clearly indicates that the Hebrew root of G2424 is H3091, YAHUSHA, which means "YHWH is Salvation". Strong's transfers the meaning of H3091 to G2424, but this is clearly not correct since G2424 is just an empty transliteration without meaning. This is evidenced by the fact that the word for salvation in the Greek is G4991, soteria, which is not a component of G2424 at all. Similarly, the Name of "YHWH" is not a component of G2424 at all; leaving G2424 as an empty transliteration, void of meaning.
According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew root of "Iesous"(G2424) is YAHUSHA, Strong’s H3091. It follows that our Messiah’s Name is YAHUSHA!
Screen Capture from Blueletter Bible's Strong's Concordance entry for H3091,
YAHUSHA. Note that YAHUSHA (H3091) is obtained from the combination of
YHWH (H3068) + Yasha(H3467) or...
יהןשע = ישע + יהןה
YHWH + Yasha = YAHUSHA
YAHUSHA means "YHWH is Salvation"
Strong's lists the spelling of H3091 as יהןשןע (Yud Heh Vav Shin Vav Ayin), YAHUSHUA. YAHUSHA, יהןשע, is only mentioned incidentally as a variant spelling. However, H3091 is only spelled as YAHUSHUA (יהןשןע) twice: in Deuteronomy 3:21 & Judges 2:7. Disregarding the Masoretic vowel points, for the remainder of it's over 200+ occurrences in the Hebrew Scriptures, H3091 is spelled as יהןשע, YAHUSHA. For these reasons, Dr. Stephen Pidgeon & the publishers of the Cepher rightly assert that the Savior’s Name should be pronounced "YAHUSHA".(2,4)

The Messiah Came in the Name of His Father in Heaven
Our Messiah clearly told us that He had come in the Name of His Father...
John 5:43
I am come in My Father's Name, and ye receive Me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
This is a huge verse in that the Messiah Himself is indicating that He had come in His Father's Name. Similarly, in Matthew 21:9, Mark 11:9-10, & John 12:13, the multitudes praised Him when He entered Jerusalem. Our Creator's Name, YHWH (יהןה), is an integral component of the Messiah's Name, forming the first three letters of His Name. The remaining two letters are from the Hebrew word, yasha (ישע), which means salvation. Thus YAHUSHA (יהןשע) means "YHWH is salvation".
Matthew 21:9
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
Mark 11:9-10
And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord:
John 12:13
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.
The clear meaning of this passage has been obscured by the introduction of the title, "Lord", into the text. However, the multitudes who praised Him when He entered Jerusalem were clearly quoting & paraphrasing from Psalm 118....
Psalm 118:26
Blessed is He who comes in the Name of YHWH...
So the multitudes who praised the Messiah as He entered Jerusalem were all acknowledging that He had come in the Name of YHWH in Matthew 21:9, Mark 11:9-10, & John 12:13. So those passages should read as follows...
Matthew 21:9
And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of YHWH; Hosanna in the highest.
Mark 11:9-10
And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of YHWH:
John 12:13
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the Name of YHWH.
In Matthew 23:39 & Luke 13:35, our Messiah Himself again indicates that He had come in the Name of YHWH.
Matthew 23:39
For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of YHWH.
Luke 13:35
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of YHWH.
Advocates of the name "Yeshua" attempt to make the claim that all these verses & passages don't actually mean that the Messiah came in the Name of YHWH, but really just in the power or authority of YHWH. However, our Messiah left His earthly home & human family over two thousand years ago to be a homeless, itinerant Suffering Servant in perfect humility & obedience to YHWH. He clearly & repeatedly said He came in the Name of YHWH! He knows much better than we do about His Name & everything else! When He returns in the future, He will be returning in the Name, Power, & Authority of YHWH! At that point every knee will bow before Him, & every mouth will acknowledge Him as YHWH in the flesh.

Our Creator Said That The Messiah's Name Would Be YAHUSHA( יהושע )
Fortunately, the Name of our Messiah does not have to be a mystery! YHWH our Creator & Heavenly Father told us Himself in advance what the Messiah's Name would be.
There are several verses in the Prophets referring to the Righteous Messiah of YHWH, as the BRANCH.
Jeremiah 23:5-6
Behold, the days come, saith YHWH, that I will raise unto David a righteous BRANCH, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In His days Yahudah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His name whereby He shall be called, YHWH our Righteousness.
Jeremiah 23:5-6 is an amazing verse that makes several important points about the Messiah. First, He is a Branch or offshoot from David. The Messiah will be a Righteous King who will execute judgment & justice in the whole Earth! He also comes in the Name, Power, & Authority of YHWH. This passage is clearly referring to the Second Coming of YAHUSHA the Messiah.
Isaiah 11:1-10 is another verse that provides tremendous information about the Righteous Messiah of YHWH.
Isaiah 11:1-10
1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2And the Spirit of YHWH shall rest upon Him,
the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, the Spirit of Counsel and Might,
the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Fear of YHWH; 3And shall make Him of quick understanding in the Fear of YHWH: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears: 4But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:
and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked. 5And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins,
and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;
and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. 7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of YHWH, as the waters cover the sea. 10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and His rest shall be wonderful.
The first five verses of Isaiah 11:1-10 are describing the Messiah, indicating that the Seven Spirits of YHWH will rest upon Him. Isaiah 11:6-10 are describing the Kingdom that our Righteous Messiah will establish on the Earth, one of perfect Peace & Justice. In this Messianic Kingdom, the whole earth shall be full of the Knowledge of YHWH! This means no more false religions, & no more wars of aggression, destruction, & devastation! It may be hard for us to even Imagine that!
Isaiah indicates that the Messiah would also be a Branch or Offshoot of YHWH...
Isaiah 4:2
In that day shall the BRANCH of YHWH be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.
So the Righteous Messiah would be an offshoot, or BRANCH of YHWH, as well as a descendant of David!
Zechariah 6:11-13
11Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest; 12And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh YHWH of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The Branch;
and He shall grow up out of His place, and He shall build the temple of YHWH:
13Even He shall build the temple of YHWH; and He shall bear the majesty,
and shall sit and rule upon His throne; and He shall be a priest upon His throne:
and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
In Zechariah 6:12, YHWH our Creator is telling us all in advance that YAHUSHA (H3091, YAHUSHA, יהןשע, the son of Yahutzadek) the high priest had the same name as the BRANCH, or offshoot of David who would build the temple of YHWH & rule over the whole earth.
Thus, the actual textual evidence from the Scriptures indicate the Messiah's Name would be YAHUSHA, which means "YHWH is Salvation". There can be no valid objection to calling the Messiah by His real Name, YAHUSHA, since YHWH Himself told us in Zechariah 6:12 that the Name of the BRANCH or Messiah would be H3091, YAHUSHA.
Messiah’s Name in Hebraic Scripts
The first three letters of our Messiah’s Name come from the first three letters of our Heavenly Father’s Name... "Yud Heh Waw(יהן)". The second set of letters in the Name, "Shin Ayin(שע)" comes from the Hebrew root "Yasha(ישע)", which means "salvation". According to Strong's Concordance, YAHUSHA means “YHWH is Salvation”.
יהןשע = ישע + יהןה
YHWH + Yasha = YAHUSHA
YAHUSHA means "YHWH is Salvation"
As mentioned previously, in His lifetime He was never known or called Jesus Christ. Christ is an English word that comes from the Greek word, Christos (Strong’s G5547), which means anointed. In the Scriptures, A person could be anointed to serve YHWH as a king, prophet, or priest. In English, the transliteration of the Hebrew word for anointed is Strong’s H4899, Mashiach. Yahusha was known to His disciples as YAHUSHA HaMashiach.
Unfortunately, this website doesn't really easily allow superscriptions so the numbering of verses from the Scriptures may be absent. In passages referenced, this website takes the liberty of attempting to reinsert more accurate English transliterations of our Creator's & Messiah's Names where they belong.
An effort has been made to use certain transliterations of Hebrew terms as recorded in Scriptures. The following transliterated Hebrew words are used for the words commonly used in the English Scriptures... Adonai (my master), Elohim (God or Mighty One), Ruach HaKodesh or Ruach Elohim (Holy Spirit), Kadosh (Holy). Similarly, Torah may be used instead of "Law". The reason for using the original Hebrew terms as found in the Scriptures can be easily ascertained by reading the book, “Come Our of Her My People”, by Dr. Chris Koster.
Readers will probably come across an abundance of egregious & horribly atrocious violations of fundamental grammatical rules & principles in this website. Hopefully, these grammatical errors will not prejudice the reader against the valid points being made.
This site contains excerpts from the KJV version of the Scriptures. Jesuswordsonly.com points out that the KJV book of Acts does contain post 10th century additions which were not in the original manuscripts. The corrections are given below.
