Was Paul the pharisee Authorized to Attack & Nullify YHWH's Torah?
One of the undeniably repeating themes in Paul’s letters is that, “we are not under the Torah”, “the Torah is done away with”, & various claims to that effect as the following verses demonstrate…
Romans 3:28
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.
Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the Law, but under grace.
Romans 7:6
But now we are delivered from the Law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.
2 Corinthians 3:6-11
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious? For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
Galatians 3:23-25
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the Law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
Galatians 5:18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the Law.
The “Hebrew Roots Movement” generally acknowledges that YAHUSHA is the Messiah, & that we must keep YHWH’s Torah. Yet for the most part they also indulge in constantly venerating Paul the pharisee, & find all manner of creative ways of justifying & rationalizing verses like the ones above in which Paul the pharisee falsely & repeatedly claimed that we are not required to keep YHWH’s Torah.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that Paul the pharisee did repeatedly & clearly write in his letters that we are not required to keep YHWH’s Torah. Consequently, Paul’s letters have been instrumental in deceiving billions of people into disobeying our Creator for thousands of years. This clearly identifies Paul the pharisee as being a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13:5 & Matthew 7:15-20.
Deuteronomy 13:5
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from YHWH your Elohim, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which YHWH your Elohim commanded thee to walk in. So shalt thou put the evil away from the midst of thee.
Matthew 7:15-20
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
The religion of Christianity accepts at face value Paul’s false claims that YHWH’s Torah is done away with, & that we are not required to keep YHWH’s Torah. Yet, one simple question that is rarely considered by the religious leaders of Christianity is, “Did Paul the pharisee actually have the specific authority to nullify or do away with YHWH’s Torah?”
A couple of important verses to remember in this regard are Deuteronomy 4:2 & Deuteronomy 12:32...
Deuteronomy 4:2
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of YHWH your Elohim which I command you.
Deuteronomy12:32
What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
These two verses from the book of Deuteronomy clearly indicate that of course Paul the pharisee had no authority to attempt to attack, denigrate, & do away with YHWH's Torah since it is explicitly forbidden to try to diminish anything from YHWH’s Torah!
Apostolic Authority
Some Paulinists claim that since Paul was an apostle, he had the authority to do away with YHWH’s Torah. However, it has already been established that our Messiah has Twelve Apostles.
Matthew 10:2-4
Now the names of the Twelve Apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
Acts 1:24-26
And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
Our Messiah clearly stated that He has Twelve Apostles who will be seated on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel in His Kingdom.
Matthew 19:28
And YAHUSHA said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Similarly, Revelation 21:14 indicates that the Wall of New Jerusalem has twelve foundations on which are written the names of our Messiah’s Twelve Apostles.
Revelation 21:14
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve Apostles of the Lamb.
Despite the fact that Paul the pharisee incessantly proclaimed himself as being an Apostle, it has already been explicitly documented that Paul the pharisee simply was not qualified to be one of our Messiah’s Twelve Apostles … https://www.wemustallrepent.com/waspauloneofthetwelveapostles. Nevertheless, there are a couple of odd verses in which Luke calls Paul an apostle. It appears that Luke may have used the term in the general sense as a prominent christian leader since there is not a single verse in the NT in which YAHUSHA or any of His actual Twelve Apostles acknowledge Paul the pharisee as being one of YAHUSHA’s Apostles. Consequently, Paul the pharisee’s “apostleship” may be at least as legitimate & authoritative as any of the people alive today who identify themselves as “apostles”.
Even if Paul the pharisee were one of YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles, Paul still would not have the authority to attack, denigrate, attempt to nullify, or do away with our Creator’s Torah. This is extremely clear from the following verse…
Luke 16:17
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.
It is extremely clear that our Saviour never taught that YHWH’s Torah would be done away with. Instead, He clearly taught that Heaven & Earth would pass away before the slightest aspect of the Torah could be diminished. See also … https://www.wemustallrepent.com/yahusha-his-commandments
Our Saviour also made it clear that the servant is not greater than the Master…
John 13:16
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
Thus, given that YAHUSHA never taught that YHWH’s Torah would be done away with, none of His true Apostles were ever authorized by Him to teach such a thing either. Only a false apostle or false prophet would make such brazenly false claims.
“Holy Spirit inspired authority”
Some Paulinists insist that Paul the pharisee was inspired by the Holy Spirit to attack, denigrate, attempt to nullify, & do away with our Creator’s Torah. However, it has already been documented that any attempt to use the Holy Spirit to defend the false teachings of Paul the pharisee can only be futile & invalid… https://www.wemustallrepent.com/paulandtheholyspirit
This is because Paul the pharisee wrote at least one false teaching on the Holy Spirit,
1 Corinthians 12:3, which was completely disproven by the experience of the Samaritans in Acts 8:5-25, & by our Saviour’s teaching in Matthew 7:21-23. In 1 Corinthians 12:3, Paul basically claims that no one can say that, "Jesus is Lord", unless they have the Holy Spirit.
In contrast, our Saviour explicitly says that many would call Him Lord whom He would reject as being workers of iniquity or lawlessness…
1 Corinthians 12:3
Wherefore I give you to understand… that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.
Matthew 7:21-23
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Thus those calling Him Lord, in Matthew 7:21-23 could not possibly have the Holy Spirit since our Saviour rejects them for being workers of Lawlessness, which is a state of being without Torah, either through ignorance or violation of it.
Similarly, the book of Acts records that Paul the pharisee repeatedly disobeyed the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:2 documents that the Holy Spirit required that Paul & Barnabas work together. However, Acts 15:36-40 indicates that Paul fought with Barnabas. They separated, & never worked together again. Thus Paul disobeyed the Holy Spirit’s directive that Paul work with Barnabas.
Similarly, Acts 21:3-4 & Acts 21:10-13 documents that the Holy Spirit repeatedly used other individuals to warn Paul not to go to Jerusalem, but Paul disobeyed the Holy Spirit & went anyway. jesuswordsonly.com brilliantly points out that if Paul were so full of the Holy Spirit, why would it be necessary for the Holy Spirit to direct other people to warn Paul instead of the Holy Spirit warning Paul directly?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Judges 14:6
And the Spirit of YHWH came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done.
2nd Samuel 23:1-2
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said,
and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
The Spirit of YHWH spake by me,
and His Word was in my tongue.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of YHWH!! Is the Spirit of YHWH going to suddenly & arbitrarily inspire someone like Paul the pharisee to write against, disparage, or otherwise cause people to disobey YHWH’s Torah at the end of YHWH’s Scriptures? Absolutely not! Our Creator told us that His Spirit will cause us to be obedient to Him…
Ezekiel 36:27
And I will put My Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Since Paul’s letters have been instrumental in causing billions of people to disobey our Creator for thousands of years, Paul’s letters could not possibly have been inspired by the Holy Spirit or Spirit of YHWH!!
The fact that Paul the pharisee repeatedly disobeyed the instructions of the Holy Spirit according to the book of Acts is very significant in itself. The prophet from 1 Kings 13 died for disobeying YHWH even once! Nadab & Abihu, Levitical Priests & sons of Aaron the High Priest also died for disobeying YHWH even once! Similarly, Adam & Eve, Balaam, Moses, Saul, & Jonah also suffered significant consequences for disobeying YHWH our Creator even once!
Paulinists are so enamoured of their beloved pharisee that they like to imagine that he is free to repeatedly disobey the Spirit of YHWH at will, & yet remain beyond reproach. This is clearly wishful thinking on their part.
The question remains, “Did Paul the pharisee have the authority to nullify or do away with YHWH’s Torah?”
Paul the pharisee certainly did not have the authority to do away with YHWH’s Torah as an apostle, since it has already been documented that Paul the pharisee was not qualified to be one of YAHUSHA’s Twelve Apostles. Even if Paul were one of the Twelve Apostles, that would in no way grant him the authority to do away with YHWH’s Torah since YAHUSHA our Saviour repeatedly taught that the Torah must be kept, & that heaven & earth would pass away before the slightest aspect of the Torah could be diminished.
Similarly, Paul the pharisee could not have had the authority to do away with YHWH’s Torah as a consequence of being inspired by the Spirit of YHWH since YHWH clearly stated that His Spirit would cause us to be obedient to Him & to follow His instructions.
https://www.wemustallrepent.com/paulandtheholyspirit
So if Paul the pharisee didn’t have the authority to do away with or nullify YHWH’s Torah as a consequence of being an apostle or being inspired by the Holy Spirit, what gave Paul that specific authority? Generally in the Tanakh, whenever a Prophet was to convey a message from YHWH to the children of Israel, YHWH our Creator would communicate with the prophet & specific instructions would be given to the prophet regarding what he was to say &/or do before the children of Israel.
Therefore, what are the specific verses in which either YHWH or YAHUSHA are documented as instructing Paul the pharisee to attack, denigrate, &/or otherwise disparage YHWH’s Torah? In which specific verses did YHWH our Creator or YAHUSHA our Messiah instruct Paul the pharisee to teach that YHWH’s Torah has been done away with, or is no longer in effect, or is no longer applicable?
If the reader is unable to find such verses in the NT, it is because Paul the pharisee did not have any authority at all to attempt to attack or denigrate YHWH’s Torah. Consequently, Paul the pharisee is definitely a false prophet according to Deuteronomy 13:5 & Matthew 7:15-20.
